本文旨在分析美國小說家弗·斯各特·菲茨杰拉德的小說《夜色溫柔》中主人公迪克墮落的緣由。借助社會心理學中“身份理論”的一些概念,論文先就迪克的身份標準進行探討,并以此分析并闡釋了迪克在自我實現(xiàn)過程中的行為表現(xiàn);然后借助身份排序,身份認證等社會心理學概念,剖析了不同時期的迪克對自身不同身份的重視程度,以及社會背景和社會關系對迪克身份轉變產生的影響。經過一系列分析討論后,作者得出結論:迪克內心世界與外在世界的不可調和是造成其身份沖突的主要根源。迪克由于無法與第一次世界大戰(zhàn)后經濟快速發(fā)展、金錢權利至上、道德淪喪的社會茍同,又無法解決自身存在的身份矛盾,以致自身衡量尺度失效,落得被社會拋棄的下場。因此是社會否定、他人否定和自我否定使迪克跌落進悲劇的深淵�！兑股珳厝帷芬恢币詠肀徽J為是菲茨杰拉德的自傳體小說,它完成于其妻澤爾達受精神病困擾期間。作者希望本文關于迪克的分析,將有助于對菲氏在這一階段所經歷的精神困惑進行研究。
