本文從心理分析的理論視角來探討勞倫斯在《戀愛中的女人》里對現(xiàn)代機器文明以及異化人格的批判，和對個人完整人格的憧憬。本文著重分析了和兩對人物(杰拉德和古娟；伯金和厄秀拉)心理結構相關的語言、內心獨自和儀式性場景等，發(fā)現(xiàn)勞倫斯不僅揭示了以杰拉德和古娟為代表的社會成員的自大狂心理以及機器文明的替罪羊機制，也描繪了伯金式的完整人格，從而批判了無力控制死亡本能的現(xiàn)代機器文明，也表達了對體現(xiàn)生命本能的個人完整人格的憧憬。
