　　1987年,托尼.莫里森的長篇小說《寵兒》的問世震動了美國文壇。評論家對這部作品的研究多集中在其敘事方法、黑人文學(xué)特征等方面。 本文以這部作品的女性哥特特點為突破口,透視女性哥特這種文學(xué)體裁對傳達這部作品內(nèi)涵和意義上所起得的重要作用。全文分四章:第一章介紹作家、作品及女性哥特;第二章對女性哥特三大特點之一的女性歌特女主人公在《寵兒》的分析;第三章女性哥特三大特點之一的“封閉空間”意象在《寵兒》中的分析及女性哥特不可避免的“幸福結(jié)局”在《寵兒》中的應(yīng)用;第四章總結(jié)全文,并引伸出女性哥特這種文學(xué)體裁對傳達作品內(nèi)涵和意義上所起到得的重要作用。
