長久以來,家喻戶曉的戲劇大師莎士比亞吸引了全世界的目光和注意力,而另外一位才華橫溢的劇作家克里斯托弗·馬洛卻被忽略了。馬洛是英國文藝復(fù)興時期戲劇的真正創(chuàng)始人,在彼時名聲大噪的“大學(xué)四才子”一行中,他也可謂是最杰出的一位,然而他對英國戲劇繁榮的意義和貢獻卻不為人們所熟知。因此,本文作者以結(jié)構(gòu)主義敘事學(xué)中的二元對立理論為依據(jù),深入探究馬洛的兩部悲劇作品《浮士德博士的悲劇》和《馬耳他的猶太人》的深層結(jié)構(gòu),并揭示這兩部戲劇共同的深刻主題——當(dāng)一個人為知識或金錢等欲望所驅(qū)使,并妄圖以此主宰世界時,他也注定要被這欲望所毀滅。 本文分為五個部分: 第一部分為概述,回顧了馬洛對文學(xué)世界的偉大貢獻和意義,以及他的兩部作品:《浮士德博士的悲劇歷史》和《馬耳他島的猶太人》,還簡要回顧了相關(guān)的文學(xué)評論,并由此得出作者之所以采用結(jié)構(gòu)主義分析方法來剖析這兩部戲劇的原因和意義所在。 在第一章中,作者從結(jié)構(gòu)主義的角度簡要論述了這兩部戲劇的概況,對即將運用在本文中的理論框架做了一個清晰的概論。這一節(jié)由三個方面組成:首先介紹了結(jié)構(gòu)主義文學(xué)理論的主要方法論—二元對立;然后引用了格雷馬斯和托多洛夫的結(jié)...
