海明威對性,性別,欲望三位一體傳統(tǒng)觀念的質(zhì)疑

由于海明威在作品中描寫男性的追求,男性的態(tài)度,以及男性的氣概,海明威一直與定型的男子漢概念聯(lián)系在一起。評論家往往將他的女性角色類型化:不是魔女就是天使,因此他被譴責(zé)為一個男性至上主義者。然而,1986年出版的表現(xiàn)雙性同體主題的海明威遺作《伊甸園》和1987年肯尼思。林恩發(fā)表的強調(diào)海明威作品中迥然不同的特性,主題和意象的長篇傳記《海明威》,使評論家從社會性別角度對海明威小說中男性和女性角色有了重新評價。 本文試圖用朱迪思。巴特勒的后現(xiàn)代女性主義理論,從三個方面:性別角色換裝,性別角色轉(zhuǎn)換,同性戀欲望,即這些“顛覆性的重復(fù)”對海明威兩本小說《伊甸園》和《太陽照常升起》進行探索,闡明海明威并不是一個提倡傳統(tǒng)性別角色,擁護男性至上的作家,而是一個試圖解構(gòu)男權(quán)社會中性,性別,欲望三位一體的作家。通過上述三個方面的分析,文章揭示海明威能意識到性別,性欲的不確定性,并對傳統(tǒng)上用男性/女性,異性戀/同性戀的性別觀點給社會性別下定義的可行性進行了置疑。文章進一步指出:這種對傳統(tǒng)的背叛并不表示海明威倡導(dǎo)性別越位或者同性戀,而是揭示海明威對現(xiàn)代社會中社會性別角色變化和重構(gòu)的深切關(guān)注。在這種意義上,本文...
