莎士比亞喜劇中的女性地位

無論是在英國文學(xué)的長廊之中,抑或從整個英國文化的歷史來看,威廉·莎士比亞都占據(jù)著獨(dú)一無二的地位。他一生中共創(chuàng)作了39部戲劇,5首長詩,154首十四行詩,足以使其儕身于世界文學(xué)巨匠之列。因此,只要談到英國文學(xué),就必然會涉及到莎士比亞的作品。作為莎士比亞文學(xué)的初涉者,莎劇中人物形象的多樣化給我留下了深刻的印象,尤其是在喜劇中出現(xiàn)的眾多聰明智慧的女性,更引起了我濃厚的興趣。 本文以莎劇女性形象為主題,旨在反映莎士比亞喜劇中所描寫的伊麗莎白統(tǒng)治時期婦女地位上升的趨勢。我認(rèn)為,莎劇中女性角色占據(jù)了統(tǒng)治全局的地位,然而由于歷史及社會的局限性,莎士比亞在戲劇結(jié)尾處將女性塑造成了與社會傳統(tǒng)習(xí)俗更為相符的形象。文中首先討論的是女性在莎士比亞喜劇中的崇高地位。莎劇猶如一面明鏡,真實再現(xiàn)了當(dāng)時社會各階層女性為爭取自由、人權(quán)及社會尊重所做出的斗爭。例如,喜劇《威尼斯商人》中聰明果敢的女主角羅莎琳娜,反映了女性在社會中角色的轉(zhuǎn)變:又如《馴悍記》中著名的凱特這一形象更是有力反擊了社會上輕視女性的保守思潮?傊,莎士比亞喜劇中的女性形象豐滿而真實可信,其成就早已超越了莎士比亞同時代及以前的其他戲劇家的作品。 ...
