《福賽特世家》三部曲是約翰·高爾斯華綏小說創(chuàng)作高峰時(shí)期的代表作。它包括《有產(chǎn)業(yè)的人》,《騎虎》和《出租》,以及兩個(gè)插曲——“殘夏”和“覺醒”。在這三部小說中,作者通過描寫福賽特家族由興盛到衰敗的過程,從不同側(cè)面向讀者展示了維多利亞王朝的變遷以及二十世紀(jì)之交英國(guó)資產(chǎn)階級(jí)的生存狀況。同時(shí),作者綜合運(yùn)用了多種藝術(shù)手法,對(duì)小說中的人物和事件進(jìn)行了細(xì)致入微的刻畫,從而豐富了現(xiàn)實(shí)主義小說的創(chuàng)作技巧。因此,《福賽特世家》三部曲在二十世紀(jì)初英國(guó)文學(xué)史上有著舉足輕重的地位。《福賽特世家》在出版之初就引起了國(guó)外學(xué)者的關(guān)注,由此開展的傳記性研究為我們探討作品的主題和意義提供了借鑒。近年來(lái),隨著文學(xué)理論研究的日漸深入和研究視角的不斷豐富,對(duì)《福賽特世家》的研究呈現(xiàn)出多元化的趨勢(shì);更多的學(xué)者從心理分析,互文性,文化批評(píng)等視角對(duì)該作品進(jìn)行分析,為我們的相關(guān)研究拓寬了思路。相比較而言,國(guó)內(nèi)對(duì)《福賽特世家》的研究起步較晚,主要是對(duì)人物性格,主題和創(chuàng)作手法的探討;而且,就其廣度和深度而言,仍然不及國(guó)外。縱觀國(guó)內(nèi)外有關(guān)《福賽特世家》的研究,我們可以看出:在歷時(shí)性研究方面,以分析三部曲之間的內(nèi)在聯(lián)系和傳承關(guān)系的研究居多;從...
