舍伍德?安德森在文學(xué)歷史上一直是個(gè)頗具爭(zhēng)議的作家,而且自從他的第一部小說(shuō)Windy Mcpherson’s Son出版后,對(duì)他及其作品的評(píng)論就沒(méi)一直沒(méi)停止過(guò)。而一直以來(lái),對(duì)他的評(píng)論無(wú)外乎以下幾個(gè)方面:安德森在美國(guó)文學(xué)上的地位和影響,他所處的文學(xué)流派,他作品的主題和他所運(yùn)用的創(chuàng)作技巧等等。但自從二十世紀(jì)六十年代以來(lái),文學(xué)評(píng)論界開始對(duì)舍伍德?安德森及其作品重新審視,以期對(duì)他的作品,他與其時(shí)代的關(guān)系以及他在美國(guó)二十世紀(jì)文學(xué)發(fā)展中所起的作用獲得更加全面的了解。現(xiàn)在評(píng)論家們基本認(rèn)定他是美國(guó)過(guò)渡時(shí)期非常重要的作家,認(rèn)為他是現(xiàn)代主義的先驅(qū)。特別是在短篇小說(shuō)形式、主題、風(fēng)格和人物創(chuàng)造上,安德森都是一個(gè)開創(chuàng)者,有自己獨(dú)特之處。但是舍伍德?安德森人物創(chuàng)造還沒(méi)有引起足夠的關(guān)注。他的人物創(chuàng)作技巧、小說(shuō)人物的特性及其作品中人物所處的文化背景是本篇論文的主要內(nèi)容。由于安德森通常被認(rèn)為是一個(gè)短篇小說(shuō)家,而且他的短篇小說(shuō)人物創(chuàng)造又極具特色,所以本篇論文主要圍繞其四部短篇小說(shuō)集來(lái)進(jìn)行討論,也就是Winesburg, Ohio （1919）, The Triumph of the Egg （1921）, Horses a...
