論《海豹女人》中的象征藝術(shù)

【摘要】:貝弗利法默(Beverley Farmer,1941-)是澳大利亞著名女作家,出版了多部長篇小說,短篇小說和非小說類作品,并獲得了眾多獎項,一直吸引著讀者和眾多評論者的目光。法默創(chuàng)作的旺盛期正是西方女權(quán)主義浪潮高漲的時期,因此她的作品也或多或少的反映了那個時代的女性對平等、獨立的追求,揭露了受到父權(quán)制壓迫、處于社會底層的女性的生活狀態(tài),以及女性面對男權(quán)壓迫的不同反應(yīng):積極反抗或被動接受。基于切身經(jīng)歷,她小說的主題基本上是不同文化間的互動和沖突,女性的孤獨,男性的家庭暴力,和人與人之間的疏離。法默小說中的女主人公面對危機時更多的是被動地接受,而非主動地去抗?fàn);面對男性暴力時不會積極地反抗,而是“退回到代表‘女性’空間的母親、自然、瘋狂和死亡之中”。因此,女性角色的被動性是法默小說一個有趣而充滿爭議的特點。 1992年,法默發(fā)表了長篇小說《海豹女人》,講述了一位有著跨國婚姻的女性在丈夫遇難后追尋自我的過程,以及這個過程中不同文化間的沖突和融合。丹麥姑娘達格瑪(Dagmar)嫁給了澳大利亞丈夫費恩,在丈夫死于海上事故后,她來到澳大利亞追憶心愛的丈夫。法默采用海豹女人的傳說作為象征,闡釋達格瑪痛失愛人、陷于陌生文化、進退兩難的生活經(jīng)歷以及內(nèi)心的孤獨感受。失去了海豹皮的海豹女人回不了大海,失去了丈夫的達格瑪也難以融入澳大利亞生活。盡管達格瑪與另一位男子產(chǎn)生了新的愛情,,她還是在陌生的環(huán)境中嘗盡孤獨和疏離的痛苦,最后回到了丹麥自己的故鄉(xiāng)。小說內(nèi)充滿了神話、比喻和各種象征,并借助象征突出和深化了主題。 象征主義是現(xiàn)代主義文學(xué)中形成最早、時間最長和影響最大的文學(xué)流派。它力圖把握文學(xué)的特征,努力探求主客觀之間的契合點,因而,“通感”便成了象征主義的理論基石。象征主義者在題材上側(cè)重描寫個人幻影和內(nèi)心感受,在藝術(shù)方法上否定空泛的修辭和生硬的說教,強調(diào)用有質(zhì)感的形象和暗示、烘托、對比、聯(lián)想的方法來創(chuàng)作。本論文正是運用象征主義文學(xué)理論來分析法默創(chuàng)造中的藝術(shù)手法和作品中豐富的象征對主題的烘托。 論文首先介紹了研究的目的和意義,《海豹女人》故事梗概與目前研究現(xiàn)狀。接著介紹研究的理論支撐:象征主義理論的概念及其產(chǎn)生根源,它的國內(nèi)外研究現(xiàn)狀,并區(qū)分了象征主義手法與象征手法的異同。然后分三個方面討論小說中的象征意象。首先是神話傳說:海豹女人和塞繆爾泰勒的象征意義。達格瑪?shù)慕?jīng)歷與海豹女人的悲劇極其相似,而失去愛情的人生與塞繆爾泰勒相同,終日生活在陰影下得不到解脫。其次是大海、房屋、沼澤地和燈塔四個景物象征。用大海表示生命之源和男女愛情,房屋表示父權(quán)社會對女性的限制,沼澤地表示進退維谷的糾結(jié)狀態(tài),燈塔表示模糊的希望。第三是海豹、蜘蛛和貓咪三個動物象征。海豹象征達格瑪生活的艱難,蜘蛛象征達格瑪不能走出丈夫離去的陰影,貓咪凸顯了達格瑪?shù)墓陋殹W詈笫菍θ撐牡目偨Y(jié):法默用大量的意象構(gòu)筑了一個有形有色、生動形象的象征世界,這個世界呈現(xiàn)出巨大的包容性和多義性,是連接物質(zhì)世界和精神世界的橋梁。通過對小說里象征主義藝術(shù)手法的分析,讀者可以更深刻地理解法默的創(chuàng)造理念,嚴密的整體敘事結(jié)構(gòu),縝密的構(gòu)思和豐富的想象力,從而理解小說人物的內(nèi)心世界。
[Abstract]:Beverly Farmer (1941-), a well-known Australian woman writer, has published many novel, short stories and non-fiction, and has won numerous awards and has been drawing attention to the reader and many of the critics. It is the period of the rising of the western feminist wave, and therefore, her work more or less reflects the women's equal and independent pursuit of the time, and reveals the state of life of the women under the oppression of the patriarchy and the bottom of the society. And the different reactions of women facing the oppression of men's rights: positive resistance or passive acceptance. Based on the experience of the body, the theme of her novel is basically the interaction and conflict between different cultures, the loneliness of the female, the domestic violence of the man, and the alienation between the person and the person. The protagonist in the Farmer's novel is more passive in the face of the crisis, rather than an active way to fight; it is a "To return to the mother, nature, madness, and death that represents the female's space." to face the male violence and not to resist actively. Therefore, the passivity of the female role is an interesting and controversial feature of the Farmer novel. In 1992, Farmer published a novel "seal woman", telling a woman with a cross-border marriage pursuing a process of self-discovery after her husband's death, as well as the clash and melting of different cultures in the process Dagmar, a Danish girl, married her husband, Fane, who came to Australia after her husband died of an accident at sea. On the basis of the foundation, the symbolist focuses on the description of the personal phantom and the inner feelings, and denies the rhetoric and the hard sermon in the art method, and emphasizes the method of using the textured image and the hint, the baking, the contrast and the association. The thesis is to use the literary theory of symbolism to analyze the artistic methods and the rich symbols in the work. The paper first introduces the purpose and significance of the research.
