顛覆的世界:巴赫金狂歡化視角下的《蠅王》解讀

【摘要】:威廉·戈爾丁是20世紀最負盛名的英國作家之一,憑借其代表作《蠅王》摘取了諾貝爾文學獎的桂冠。這部寓言小說通過描述一群英國少年在一座太平洋荒島上的悲劇故事探討了關(guān)于人性本惡的古老主題。俄羅斯語言學家、文藝批評家、哲學家米哈伊爾·巴赫金通過研究中世紀歐洲狂歡節(jié)傳統(tǒng)提出了狂歡化理論,將文學與狂歡節(jié)聯(lián)系起來,揭示出狂歡節(jié)對等級秩序的顛覆性內(nèi)涵。不難發(fā)現(xiàn),《蠅王》的主題、人物以及意象等等諸多要素均與狂歡化理論存在異曲同工之妙。 本文從巴赫金狂歡化理論的視角出發(fā),試圖探討小說《蠅王》的狂歡精神。第一章簡要介紹威廉·戈爾丁生平、《蠅王》故事梗概、巴赫金生平以及狂歡化理論的內(nèi)涵;第二章討論作家經(jīng)歷對其創(chuàng)作的深遠影響,以及《蠅王》對傳統(tǒng)英國荒島小說的批判與反思;第三章從狂歡國王的加冕與脫冕儀式出發(fā),對小說人物的狂歡化色彩加以詳細分析;第四章以火焰、歡笑以及蠅王為例,探討小說中狂歡化意象的雙重性,同時研究荒島狂歡化的時間與空間;第五章是對上述篇章的概括與總結(jié)。 簡而言之,本文在狂歡化視角的觀照之下,對小說《蠅王》做出分析與解讀,不僅挖掘了小說的深度,也豐富了理論的內(nèi)涵。限于時間篇幅,疏漏之處在所難免,還需進一步修正。
[Abstract]:William Golding, one of the most famous British writers in the 20th century, won the Nobel Prize for Literature for his masterpiece King of the flies. The fable explores the ancient theme of human nature by depicting the tragic story of a group of British teenagers on a Pacific island. Mikhail Bakhtin, a Russian linguist, literary critic and philosopher, put forward the carnival theory by studying the tradition of the medieval European Carnival, linking literature with the carnival. It reveals the subversive connotation of Carnival on hierarchical order. It is not difficult to find that the theme, characters and images of the Lord of the flies are similar to the carnival theory. From the perspective of Bakhtin's carnival theory, this paper attempts to explore the carnival spirit of the novel King of the flies. The first chapter briefly introduces the life of William Golding, the outline of the story of King of the flies, the life of Bakhtin and the connotation of carnival theory. The second chapter discusses the profound influence of the writer's experience on his creation, and the critique and reflection of the traditional British desert island novel in Lord of the flies. The third chapter starts from the coronation and discoronation ceremony of the revelry king, and analyzes the carnival color of the characters in the novel in detail. The fourth chapter discusses the duality of the carnival image in the novel, and studies the time and space of the carnival in the desert island with the example of flame, laughter and the king of the fly. The fifth chapter is the summary and summary of the above chapters. In short, under the view of carnival, this paper analyzes and interprets the novel Lord of the flies, which not only excavates the depth of the novel, but also enriches the connotation of the theory. Limited time space, omissions are inevitable, but also need to be further revised.
