[Abstract]:Philip Ross is one of the highest-ranking contemporary American writers and considered a strong contender for the Nobel Prize for Literature. He won all but the Nobel Prize for Literature. Most of Ross's works revolve around Jews, reflecting the living predicament and confusion of the Jews by describing them. In his work, the uncleanness of Human Nature has been highly recommended and won numerous awards by media and critics since its publication. In this paper, the main characters in "the filth of Human Nature" are taken as the research object, and Foucault's power discourse theory is used to analyze the research object. It reveals the origin of the tragic fate of the characters and the identity crisis that the marginal characters must experience in the society where white people control power discourse. The structure of the article will be divided into the following five parts. The first part of the introduction summarizes Philip Ross's life and his works, and briefly introduces the works "the pollution of Human Nature", and then summarizes the current research situation of Philip Ross's works at home and abroad. Put forward their own research entry point. Chapter one defines Foucault's power discourse theory and identity. This paper mainly uses Stuart Hall's definition of identity, that is, cultural identity and gender identity, to explain briefly how power discourse leads to human identity crisis. The second chapter analyzes the identity crisis experienced by Coleman and Herbert in power discourse. This paper uses Foucault's theory of life power to explain the root cause of racial discrimination and reveals Coleman's crisis of cultural identity under the racial consciousness. Applying Foucault's panoramic open view theory to explain the fundamental reason and inevitability of Herbert's betrayal of Coleman, it further reveals the survival dilemma of black people in a society where white people control the right to speak. The third chapter analyzes the two main female characters in the novel, that is, Virginia from the bottom of the society and the intellectual elite from other nationalities. Through the analysis of two women, it is revealed that no matter what social status women are in, Neither of them can escape the tragic fate and the inevitable identity crisis caused by sexism and the difference of cultural identity caused by racism. The fourth chapter discusses a large number of sexual topics in the text. The author uses Foucault's power theory to explain how the topic of "taboo" in today's society is how to be unscrupulously explored under the manipulation of power discourse. It reveals how people fall into identity crisis because of the influence of power discourse. The conclusion concludes and emphasizes the theme of the thesis that no matter how marginalized people meet the false moral standards racial and sexist social demands cannot escape identity crisis and disillusionment of dreams.
