《最后一個人》中的水意象探究

【摘要】:針對瑪麗雪萊的著名小說《最后一個人》的現(xiàn)有研究主要集中于:政治隱喻,女性主義分析,人文主義反思以及生態(tài)保護(hù)這四個方面,,卻忽略了對其情節(jié)與常用意象的深入探索。因此。本文意在建立一個新的視角來分析此小說文本并且深入了解小說與作者之間千絲萬縷的聯(lián)系。因此,為了更好研究此部小說,本文選擇文中大量使用的水意象作為切入點,來分析出現(xiàn)約三百次的水意象對小說情節(jié)推動與人物塑造的作用。 本文意在通過對意象以及水意象的系統(tǒng)研究,加深對《最后一個人》的理解并且分析瑪麗雪萊與此部小說的內(nèi)在聯(lián)系。西方學(xué)術(shù)界對于意象概念的認(rèn)知經(jīng)歷了從抽象到具體,從心理層面到藝術(shù)創(chuàng)造層面的過程。為了界定意象,本文通過概念溯源以及發(fā)展脈絡(luò)的梳理,將意象界定為:非刻意的客觀事物與主觀意識的有機(jī)融合,“理性與感性”的復(fù)合體,表現(xiàn)了意象主體的審美態(tài)度和精神意向。 文章接下來就水意象的認(rèn)知以及作用進(jìn)行了深入探究。傳統(tǒng)意義上來說,水象征著凈化與源頭。然而隨著海洋,航行,迷霧,風(fēng)暴以及小溪等意向的運用日趨頻繁,此類與水相關(guān)的名詞形成了單獨的一類:水意象。在《最后一個人》中,瑪麗雪萊將海洋作為最主要的水意象,并將其擴(kuò)展到具體自然元素中去。對于這些水意象的研究能夠使讀者深入了解文中人物的命運以及小說對作者人生的投射作用。同時,文章還具有一定的現(xiàn)實意義。文章中對疫情和洪水的描寫也展現(xiàn)了作者對人類過度紛爭索取所必然遭受懲罰的預(yù)言,對現(xiàn)世有一定的警示作用。
[Abstract]:The current research on Mary Shelley's famous novel the Last Man focuses on four aspects: political metaphor, feminist analysis, humanism reflection and ecological protection. But neglected to its plot and the common image thorough exploration. therefore The purpose of this paper is to establish a new perspective to analyze the novel text and to understand the inextricable relationship between the novel and the author. Therefore, in order to study the novel better, this paper chooses the water image, which is widely used in the text, as the starting point to analyze the effect of the water image appearing about 300 times on the plot promotion and character shaping of the novel. The purpose of this paper is to deepen the understanding of the Last Man through the systematic study of the image and the image of water, and to analyze the inner relationship between Mary Shelley and the novel. The cognition of image concept in western academic circles has experienced the process from abstract to concrete, from psychological level to artistic creation level. In order to define the image, this paper defines the image as the organic fusion of objective things and subjective consciousness, the complex of "reason and sensibility" through the tracing of the concept and the development of the thread of development. It shows the aesthetic attitude and spiritual intention of the image subject. Next, the paper makes a deep research on the cognition and function of water image. Traditionally, water symbolizes purification and source. However, with the increasing use of sea, navigation, fog, storms and streams, these terms related to water form a separate category: water imagery. In the Last Man, Mary Shelley uses the sea as the primary water image and extends it to specific natural elements. The study of these water images can help readers to understand the fate of the characters in the text and the effect of the novel on the author's life. At the same time, the article also has certain practical significance. The description of the epidemic situation and flood also shows the author's prophecy of the punishment for the excessive claim of human beings, which is a warning to the present world.
