基于語域理論談《暮光之城》終篇—《破曉》

【摘要】:作為近幾十年來繼J.K.羅琳之后又一位出色的女性流行小說作家,斯蒂芬妮·梅爾不僅攜著她的吸血鬼故事席卷了全世界的青少年,同時也為她自己贏得了無數(shù)毀譽(yù)參半的評價。這樣一系列的流行小說是如何能夠在一夜之間風(fēng)靡全球?究竟書中藏著什么樣的魔力?從第一本《暮色》到完結(jié)篇《破曉》,每一本都引發(fā)了廣泛的爭議。而學(xué)者們則更多地將目光投在了小說的文學(xué)分析層面上。本文嘗試在語域理論的指導(dǎo)下探討《破曉》一書的主題,主角的性格,主角之間的關(guān)系,以及斯蒂芬妮·梅爾在小說中使用的表現(xiàn)手段等內(nèi)容。 語域理論是在布羅尼斯拉夫·馬林諾夫斯基以及弗斯的研究基礎(chǔ)上,由著名的語言學(xué)家韓禮德提出的一項(xiàng)著名的功能語言理論,在小說等文學(xué)作品的情景語境分析中有著舉足輕重的地位。在韓禮德的理論體系中,他將組成語域的三個變量命名為語場、語旨、語式,這三個構(gòu)成元素會隨著語域的改變而發(fā)生變化。其中,語場指的是正在發(fā)生的事件,包括整個相關(guān)的實(shí)際發(fā)生的行為活動及事件背景環(huán)境。在《破曉》一書中,語場主要是貝拉和不死不滅的吸血鬼愛德華之間曠世的愛情故事,包括故事發(fā)生的整個社會和生活環(huán)境。語旨,呈現(xiàn)的是與參與者相關(guān)的元素,包括參與者的社會地位以及他們所扮演的社會角色。對于《破曉》這部書,本文主要選取了幾位貫穿全文的角色進(jìn)行了解析,其中包括對他們的性格以及關(guān)系的分析。最后,語式則是指語言所扮演的角色,或者換句話說,參與者預(yù)期語言在彼時的情境中所起到的作用,具體到《破曉》一書中,它的語式為書面語、對話以及獨(dú)白。 借鑒韓禮德的語域理論,本文旨在揭示作者梅爾簡單平實(shí)的語言以及第一人稱敘述的特點(diǎn),以及隱含的這些特點(diǎn)之下的其他“言外之意”。以吸血鬼與狼人的傳奇故事以及曲折的愛情歷程為主題,《破曉》向讀者們展開了一副“愛”的畫卷,不僅有主角之間的三角愛情關(guān)系,還有在文中不可或缺的朋友之愛、父母之愛。貝拉的堅(jiān)強(qiáng)獨(dú)立,愛麗絲的熱情奔放,對待家人朋友的熱心關(guān)愛還有其他在書中出現(xiàn)的角色,他們的性格特點(diǎn)以及之間的人際關(guān)系都會在本文中給予具體分析。
[Abstract]:As a successor to J.K. in recent decades. Stephanie Mayer, a brilliant female pop novel writer after Luo Lin, not only swept the world's teens with her vampire story, but also earned herself countless mixed reviews. How can such a series of popular novels become popular all over the world overnight? What kind of magic is hidden in the book? From the first Twilight to the end of Dawn, each has caused widespread controversy. Scholars, on the other hand, focus more on the literary analysis of the novel. Under the guidance of register theory, this paper attempts to explore the theme of the book, the character of the protagonist, the relationship between the protagonists and the means of expression used by Stephanie Mayer in the novel. Register theory is a famous functional language theory put forward by Halliday, a famous linguist, on the basis of the research of Branislav Ma Lin Novsky and Foss. It plays an important role in situational context analysis of literary works such as novels. In Halliday's theoretical system, he named the three variables that make up the register as the field, the tenor, and the form, which will change with the change of the register. Among them, the field refers to the events that are happening, including the whole related actual behavior and the background environment of the events. In "Breaking Dawn", the language field is mainly about the outstanding love story between Bella and the immortal vampire Edward, including the whole society and living environment in which the story takes place. Tenor presents elements related to participants, including the social status of participants and their social roles. For the book Breaking Dawn, this paper mainly selects several characters throughout the text to analyze, including the analysis of their character and relationship. Finally, form refers to the role that language plays, or in other words, the role that the participant expects language to play in the context of that time, specifically in the book Breaking Dawn, which is written, conversational, and monologue. Based on Halliday's register theory, this paper aims to reveal the features of the author's simple and plain language and first-person narration, as well as other "implied meanings" under these characteristics. On the theme of the legend of vampires and werewolves and the tortuous course of love, Breaking Dawn unfolds a picture of "love" to readers, not only the triangular love relationship between the protagonists, but also the love of friends indispensable in the article. Parental love. Bella's strong independence, Alice's enthusiasm, caring for family and friends, and other characters in the book, their character characteristics and interpersonal relationships will be analyzed in this article.
