淺析《德伯家的苔絲》中的文化意象翻譯

【摘要】:文化意象是特定文化環(huán)境下生成的文化符號(hào),具有相對(duì)固定的獨(dú)特的文化含義,是物象在一定文學(xué)語(yǔ)境中乃至整個(gè)文化環(huán)境中的引申,大多凝聚著各個(gè)民族的智慧和歷史文化的結(jié)晶。近年來(lái),翻譯中文化因素的傳遞越來(lái)越受到學(xué)界的重視。在文化交流日益頻繁的今天,譯者的職責(zé)是最大限度地傳遞文化信息,然而由于各民族所處的生態(tài)、物質(zhì)、社會(huì)及宗教等環(huán)境不可能完全相同,不同文化中的意象所具有的含義也不盡相同,甚至大相徑庭。這種文化意象的差異給譯者帶來(lái)了巨大的障礙,翻譯中意象的失落、扭曲等問(wèn)題并不鮮見(jiàn)。本文通過(guò)對(duì)《德伯家的苔絲》中的文化意象的解讀,以及對(duì)三個(gè)中文譯本對(duì)各種文化意象的翻譯方法進(jìn)行對(duì)比分析,旨在對(duì)傳遞文化意象的不同方法做出有效性評(píng)價(jià),以幫助譯者在翻譯文化意象時(shí)進(jìn)行翻譯策略的抉擇。 全文分為三章,第一章是文獻(xiàn)綜述,整理了目前為止在《德伯家的苔絲》中的文化意象解析以及文化意象翻譯原則和策略方面的研究。第二章探討文化意象的定義,文化意象準(zhǔn)確傳達(dá)的必要性,以及文化意象傳遞過(guò)程中常見(jiàn)的幾種障礙。第三章對(duì)比分析了三個(gè)中文譯本對(duì)文化意象的翻譯,著眼于不同譯者采取的策略及其效果,并強(qiáng)調(diào)了添加注釋的重要性。此外,該章進(jìn)一步嘗試從同化與異化、多元系統(tǒng)理論等視角探討文化意象的翻譯。
[Abstract]:Cultural image is a cultural symbol generated under a specific cultural environment, which has relatively fixed and unique cultural meaning. It is an extension of the object image in a certain literary context and even in the whole cultural environment. In recent years, more and more attention has been paid to the transmission of cultural factors in translation. In today's increasingly frequent cultural exchanges, it is the translator's duty to convey cultural information to the maximum extent possible. However, because the ecological, material, social and religious environments in which different peoples live cannot be identical, the meanings of images in different cultures are different. The differences in cultural images have brought great obstacles to translators, and the loss and distortion of images in translation are not uncommon. This paper attempts to interpret the cultural images in Tess of the Decaux d'Urbervilles. This paper also makes a comparative analysis of the translation methods of various cultural images in the three Chinese versions in order to evaluate the effectiveness of different methods of transferring cultural images in order to help the translator to choose translation strategies when translating cultural images. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is a literature review, which deals with the analysis of cultural image and the principles and strategies of cultural image translation in Tess of the Decaux d'Urbervilles. The second chapter discusses the definition of cultural image. The necessity of accurate transmission of cultural image and several common obstacles in the process of cultural image transmission. Chapter three compares and analyzes the translation of cultural images in three Chinese versions, focusing on the strategies adopted by different translators and their effects. In addition, this chapter further attempts to explore the translation of cultural images from the perspectives of assimilation and alienation, pluralistic system theory and so on.
