[Abstract]:On the evening of October 8th 2012, the results of the 8th German Book Awards, Deutscher Buchpreis, were announced in Frankfurt: Ursula Krecheler, the only female writer on the shortlist, won the award. His new book, Landgericht, stands out from 162 entries. It became the best German novel of the year 2012. The jury gave the award for: the State Court tells about the life of a Jewish judge who has returned from exile, Richard Cornitzer. He has a strong faith in the law and the rule of law. He struggled to regain his dignity after the war, but all his efforts failed because of the narrowness of society.
