【摘要】：本文以列斐伏爾的“空間論”和詹姆斯·奧爾尼的傳記理論為框架,以道格拉斯的《弗雷德里克·道格拉斯的生平》(1845)與雅各布斯的《一個(gè)奴隸女孩的生活瑣事》(1861)為研究對象,從空間的視角探討作者道格拉斯與雅各布斯對被書寫自我的空間體驗(yàn)與爭取自由意愿與行動(dòng)的關(guān)系的不同再現(xiàn)。在這兩部奴隸敘事中,奴隸所生活的社會(huì)空間成為其客體身份的表征,而奴隸則積極利用空間體驗(yàn)改變其客體身份,追求被認(rèn)可的主體身份,這一追求主體身份的過程也是其追求自由與空間支配權(quán)的體現(xiàn)。通過將空間與身份建構(gòu)起來,本文提出道格拉斯通過建構(gòu)“弗雷德里克”這一角色,說明公共空間的言行自由對男奴主體身份建構(gòu)的重要意義,而雅各布斯則通過“琳達(dá)”這一角色的建構(gòu),說明女奴要想實(shí)現(xiàn)從客體到主體的轉(zhuǎn)變,必須建立一個(gè)屬于自己的家園。論文分為三章。第一章分析性別意識和主流文化對兩位作者建構(gòu)主人公的空間體驗(yàn)所產(chǎn)生的影響。本章提出,由于性別意識以及文化背景的差異,兩位“書寫的自我”在建構(gòu)“被書寫的自我”時(shí),對主人公空間體驗(yàn)的書寫上有所不同,為下文分析兩部作品中主人公的空間體驗(yàn)提供理論依據(jù)。受白人傳記體裁中男性形象的影響,道格拉斯將主人公弗雷德里克的空間體驗(yàn)主要置于公共空間內(nèi),而雅各布斯受到情感主義小說中女主人公的影響,將主人公琳達(dá)的空間體驗(yàn)置于家庭空間內(nèi)。第二章分析作者道格拉斯如何建構(gòu)主人公弗雷德里克的空間體驗(yàn),揭示其從客體到主體的轉(zhuǎn)變過程。本章提出,作者道格拉斯通過再現(xiàn)奴隸制下被書寫自我的空間體驗(yàn),強(qiáng)調(diào)了公共空間內(nèi)的言行自由對男奴主體身份認(rèn)可的重要意義。主人公弗雷德里克從客體到主體的轉(zhuǎn)變經(jīng)歷了三個(gè)階段,分別是主體意識的覺醒、南方公共空間內(nèi)的空間體驗(yàn)與參與北方公共事務(wù),這三個(gè)階段也體現(xiàn)了公共空間內(nèi)的言行自由對男奴主體身份認(rèn)可的重要意義。第三章分析作者雅各布斯如何建構(gòu)主人公琳達(dá)的空間體驗(yàn),揭示其從客體到主體的轉(zhuǎn)變過程。本章提出,雅各布斯通過建構(gòu)“琳達(dá)”這一角色,強(qiáng)調(diào)了家庭空間對女奴主體身份認(rèn)可的重要意義。主人公琳達(dá)從客體到主體的轉(zhuǎn)變也經(jīng)歷了三個(gè)階段,分別是作為客體的空間體驗(yàn)、祖母家庭空間內(nèi)的空間體驗(yàn)與建構(gòu)北方家園的有效嘗試,這三個(gè)階段體現(xiàn)了家庭空間內(nèi)的言行自由對女奴主體身份認(rèn)可的重要意義。
[Abstract]:This paper is based on Lefefort's Theory of Space and James Alnie's biographical theory, and takes Douglas' Life of Friedrich Douglas 1845 and Jacobs's A Life of a Slave Girl 1861). From a spatial perspective, the author Douglas and Jacobs discuss the different reappearance of the relationship between the written self's spatial experience and the desire for freedom and action. The social space in which the slave lives becomes the representation of his object identity, while the slave actively uses the space experience to change his object identity and pursue the recognized subject identity. This process of pursuing subject identity is also the embodiment of its pursuit of freedom and spatial domination. By constructing space and identity, this paper proposes that Douglas constructs the role of Frederick. It explains the importance of the freedom of words and deeds in public space to the construction of the subject identity of male slaves, while Jacobs, through the construction of the role of "Linda", shows that female slaves want to realize the transformation from object to subject. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter analyzes the influence of gender consciousness and mainstream culture on the spatial experience of the protagonists. Because of the difference of gender consciousness and cultural background, the two "written selves" are different in the writing of the protagonist's spatial experience when they construct the "written self". It provides a theoretical basis for the analysis of the space experience of the protagonists in the two works below. Influenced by the male images in the white biographical genre, Douglas puts Frederick's spatial experience in the public space. Jacobs, under the influence of the heroine in the emotionalist novel, puts Linda's spatial experience in the family space. Chapter two analyzes how Douglas constructs the space experience of the protagonist Frederick. This chapter points out that the author of this chapter, by reappearing the spatial experience of being written under slavery, It emphasizes the importance of the freedom of words and deeds in the public space to the recognition of the subject identity of the male slave. The protagonist Frederick has experienced three stages from the object to the subject, which are the awakening of the subject consciousness. The spatial experience and participation in the public affairs of the North in the public space of the South, These three stages also reflect the importance of the freedom of words and deeds in the public space to the recognition of the subject identity of the male slave. Chapter three analyzes how Jacobs constructs the protagonist's spatial experience of Linda. Reveals the process of its transformation from object to subject. This chapter suggests that Jacobs constructs the role of Linda, It emphasizes the importance of family space to the recognition of female slave subject identity. Linda's transformation from object to subject also goes through three stages, namely, the space experience as object. The spatial experience in grandmother's family space and the effective attempt to construct the northern homeland reflect the important significance of the freedom of words and deeds in the family space to the recognition of the female slave's subject status.
