多元系統(tǒng)理論視角下Wide Sargasso Sea在文化建構(gòu)中的女主人公形象變遷研究

譯者在翻譯策略上的應(yīng)用暗示了他們當(dāng)時的某些歷史和文化背景。如果譯者只分析字面語法,而忽略了可能影響翻譯的其他因素,則很難對翻譯文本做出適當(dāng)而客觀的判斷。以色列學(xué)者埃文·左哈提出了多元系統(tǒng)理論,并將翻譯研究拓展至其文化層面。根據(jù)這一理論,譯者時代的翻譯文學(xué)在多元系統(tǒng)中的地位對翻譯策略的選擇有很大的影響。在多元系統(tǒng)理論的指導(dǎo)下,本文將對Wide Sargasso Sea不同時期的五個中文版本進行比較研究,分別是1986年的王家湘版本,1992年的丁頌版本,1995年的陳良廷版本,以及2002年鄭至慧版本和2011年方軍版本。對這五個翻譯版本進行了說明性分析,以主要探討五位譯者所采用的翻譯策略,并研究這些策略如何影響西印度群島的文化構(gòu)建問題。論文從多元系統(tǒng)的角度分析了五位譯者時期翻譯文學(xué)在多元系統(tǒng)中的地位變化,以及其采用不同翻譯策略的原因,并進一步討論女主人公在這五個中文版本下的形象變遷問題。通過對譯本的研究可以得出王家湘傾向于異化翻譯,但在對待那些帶有中國特色的語言翻譯上遵從中國傳統(tǒng)文化的翻譯技巧。因此,由于該特定時代的影響因素,在她的翻譯中也有很明顯地采用了歸化翻譯策略。陳良廷和劉文瀾則...
