唐詩是中國文學(xué)的瑰寶,在中國文學(xué)英譯史上,唐詩翻譯占據(jù)重要地位。將唐詩譯為英文,使英語讀者有機會認(rèn)識和欣賞,不僅是中西文學(xué)交流的需要,也是傳遞中國人審美情趣、審美心理的需求。作為中國古典詩歌的靈魂,意象的翻譯直接關(guān)系到詩歌中所蘊含的情感能否傳達(dá),是唐詩英譯的重點和難點之一。本文以唐詩意象英譯為研究對象,有別于傳統(tǒng)的語言學(xué)視角,從心理學(xué)視角進(jìn)行研究。心理學(xué)理論中的“異質(zhì)同構(gòu)”理論和“集體無意識”理論在意象的生成和傳遞方面具有解釋力,消除了傳統(tǒng)意象理論的模糊性,為譯者理解意象的內(nèi)涵提供了科學(xué)的理論依據(jù)。本文選取《唐詩三百首》中33首離別詩中的意象進(jìn)行研究,并結(jié)合中國意象理論的方法予以分類。通過對各類典型意象的翻譯進(jìn)行文本分析,研究了這些意象生成的深層原因,并在此基礎(chǔ)上探討了不同意象的翻譯策略。本文的研究結(jié)果將有助于譯者意識到心理對翻譯的影響,關(guān)注到作者與目標(biāo)讀者的心理異同,從而更好地理解并翻譯意象,同時也有助于拓寬翻譯的研究空間,增加翻譯的研究視角,對意象翻譯具有一定的理論和實踐意義。
