隨著全球文化不斷發(fā)展,各個國家以及民族之間的文化交流也愈加頻繁,文化融合的程度也日益加深,在此過程中文學作品始終擔任著重要的媒介作用,文學作品的翻譯也為人們所津津樂道的話題。本文是一篇翻譯實踐報告,以越裔美籍作家的圖文小說The Best We Could Do為翻譯材料,該小說的作者親歷了越南戰(zhàn)爭,小說描寫了越南戰(zhàn)爭對那一代人的影響,講述了作者一家人在戰(zhàn)爭中為求生存所做的努力。該篇小說的內(nèi)容生動再現(xiàn)了經(jīng)歷戰(zhàn)爭的那一代人的痛苦,以及被迫移民他鄉(xiāng)的無奈。小說一經(jīng)發(fā)表,就引發(fā)了無數(shù)親歷這場戰(zhàn)爭的越南人的共鳴。本次翻譯實踐是在奈達的功能對等理論指導下進行的,筆者在對源文本的語言結(jié)構(gòu)和特點加以分析后,尋找合適的翻譯方法和策略,力圖準確傳達出原文的信息。本次實踐報告旨在探討如何將作者在小說中所表達的情感真實地再現(xiàn)出來,探索如何在功能對等理論指導下,使目的語讀者能夠真實地感受到經(jīng)歷這場戰(zhàn)爭的那一代人的痛苦和無奈。
