【摘要】：《紅樓夢》是一部不朽的文學(xué)巨著。作者曹雪芹“批閱十載,增刪五次”,耗盡心血才將其創(chuàng)作而成。它在國內(nèi)外都享有很高的聲譽,受到了世界各國讀者的喜愛。《紅樓夢》語言藝術(shù)極高,而書中的兩百多首詩歌就是其語言藝術(shù)的典型代表。這些詩歌語言優(yōu)美,簡潔凝練,具有極大的研究價值。金陵判詞就是這些詩歌的一部分。金陵判詞出現(xiàn)在《紅樓夢》的第五回當(dāng)中,預(yù)示了書中十五位女性主人公的命運。由于原著后四十回遺失,這十四首判詞對于理解主人公的性格命運甚至對于理解整部作品都具有極為重要的意義。此外,判詞中運用了大量的修辭、典故、意象等。這些都為判詞的翻譯增加了難度。目前,已經(jīng)有學(xué)者對判詞的翻譯進(jìn)行了一些研究。這些研究大都是從修辭學(xué)、美學(xué)等角度展開,而從關(guān)聯(lián)理論的角度對判詞翻譯進(jìn)行的研究尚且不多。因此,從這一角度進(jìn)行研究仍然具有重要意義。本文擬在關(guān)聯(lián)翻譯理論的框架之下,通過文本分析和對比分析的方法,對《紅樓夢》兩個英譯本中金陵判詞的翻譯進(jìn)行對比分析,探索兩個譯者分別采用了什么翻譯方法來傳遞判詞中的意象,以實現(xiàn)譯文與原文之間的最佳關(guān)聯(lián)。在《紅樓夢》英譯本的選取上,本文選取了最著名且最權(quán)威的兩個全譯本來進(jìn)行對比分析:一是英國漢學(xué)家大衛(wèi)·霍克斯及其女婿閔福德的譯本The Story of the Stone,另一個為楊憲益及其夫人戴乃迭的譯本A Dream of Red Mansions。通過研究,本文作者認(rèn)為無論譯者采用什么樣的翻譯方法,都應(yīng)該以最佳關(guān)聯(lián)為原則。譯者可以根據(jù)原文意象的重要性和譯文讀者的認(rèn)知語境來決定采用何種辦法傳遞原文意象�？傊�,譯者應(yīng)該做到讓譯文讀者花費最小的處理努力實現(xiàn)足夠的語境效果。
[Abstract]:The Dream of Red Mansions is an immortal literary masterpiece. Cao Xueqin, the author, "approved ten years, added and deleted five times", exhausted his painstaking efforts to create it. It enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad and is loved by readers all over the world. The language art of A Dream of Red Mansions is very high, and more than 200 poems in the book are typical representatives of its language art. These poems have beautiful language, concise and concise, and have great research value. Jinling's judgment is part of these poems. Jinling's judgment appears in the fifth chapter of A Dream of Red Mansions, which heralds the fate of fifteen female protagonists in the book. Since the original was lost forty times later, these 14 judgments are of great significance for understanding the character and fate of the protagonist and even for understanding the whole work. In addition, a lot of rhetoric, allusions, images and so on are used in the judgment. All these make it more difficult to translate the judgment. At present, some scholars have done some research on the translation of judgments. Most of these studies are carried out from the perspectives of rhetoric, aesthetics and so on, but there are few studies on the translation of judgment words from the perspective of relevance theory. Therefore, it is still of great significance to study from this point of view. Under the framework of relevance translation theory, this paper makes a contrastive analysis of the translation of Jinling judgment in two English versions of A Dream of Red Mansions by means of text analysis and contrastive analysis, and explores what translation methods the two translators have adopted to convey the images in the judgment in order to realize the best relevance between the target text and the original text. In the selection of the English translation of A Dream of Red Mansions, this paper selects two of the most famous and authoritative full versions to make a contrastive analysis: one is the translation The Story of the Stone, of David Hawkes, an English sinologist, and his son-in-law, Minford, and the other is the translation A Dream of Red Mansions. of Yang Xianyi and his wife Dai Naidi. Through the study, the author believes that no matter what kind of translation method the translator adopts, the principle of optimal relevance should be taken as the principle. According to the importance of the original image and the cognitive context of the target reader, the translator can decide what method to transmit the original image. In a word, the translator should make the target reader spend the least effort to achieve enough contextual effect.
