譯者宗教意識形態(tài)與《西游記》譯介中的文本重塑

【摘要】:在清末民初的翻譯高潮中,西學東漸雖然是譯界的主流話語,但是中學西傳也乘勢而行。在這一階段中,基督教傳教士李提摩太譯介了首部《西游記》英文單行本,然而,在宗教意識形態(tài)的作用下,譯者對《西游記》原本進行了重塑,極大地扭曲了《西游記》的文本形象,使之成為基督教在宗教意識形態(tài)競爭中的宣傳工具。本文從宗教意識形態(tài)的概念出發(fā),以《西游記》的主題、結(jié)構(gòu)以及人物形象在譯本中的重塑為切入點,探討了譯者的基督教意識形態(tài)對譯本重構(gòu)的影響,進而說明文化外譯過程中秉持中國民族文化身份的重要性。
[Abstract]:In the high tide of translation in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, although the western learning spread to the east was the mainstream discourse of the translation circles, but the middle school westward spread also took advantage of the trend. During this period, the Christian missionary Timothy Lee translated the first English monograph of Journey to the West. However, under the influence of religious ideology, the translator remade the original of Journey to the West. It greatly distorts the text image of Journey to the West and makes it a propaganda tool of Christianity in the competition of religious ideology. Starting from the concept of religious ideology and taking the theme, structure and character image of Journey to the West as the starting point, this paper discusses the influence of the translator's Christian ideology on the reconstruction of the translation. Then it explains the importance of adhering to Chinese national cultural identity in the process of cultural translation.
