【摘要】：唐詩,宋詞以及元曲共同構成了中國古典文學的三大高峰,是中國古典傳統(tǒng)文化的代表。三大古典文學形式在國內外都具有一定的影響力,因此,詩歌翻譯,這一文學翻譯的特殊領域,也受到廣大翻譯家的關注。從數(shù)量上來說,元曲遠遠不能與唐詩、宋詞比肩,因此,受其影響,在對中國古典詩詞翻譯研究的過程中,翻譯家很少把注意力放在對元曲翻譯的研究上。元曲包括雜劇和散曲,該論文主要研究散曲。直到21世紀才有了許淵沖和辜正坤兩位詩歌翻譯家的兩本英譯本。另外,詩歌翻譯也引來無數(shù)翻譯家的關注與爭議。首先,詩歌的可譯性與不可譯性一直是翻譯界爭論的話題之一。其次,對于詩歌翻譯的原則也是仁者見仁智者見智。傳統(tǒng)的詩歌翻譯理論注重形式等值的譯文,因此這種翻譯理論將重點放在原文上。但由于中西方文化等方面的差異,只追求形式上的對等往往不能取得相應的效果。 20世紀70年代,功能翻譯理論出現(xiàn)了。在該理論中,目的論是核心。目的論認為不同的目的會導致翻譯者使用不同的翻譯策略和方法。目的論主要有三大原則,即目的原則,連貫原則和忠誠原則。這些具體的翻譯原則更加充分的使翻譯目的作為標尺來確定翻譯策略并有選擇性的將原文傳譯在譯文中。由于翻譯家翻譯目的及選用翻譯策略的不同,導致了翻譯的結果的不同。所以這一原則也驗證了為什么不同的翻譯家對于同一作品會采用不同的翻譯方法并以此達到不同的翻譯目的。 本文選擇目的論作為理論基礎,利用目的論對許淵沖和辜正坤的元曲英譯本進行了比較分析。但值得指出的是,本文作者并非通過比較從而判斷哪位譯者的譯文更好哪位譯者的譯文稍差,而是想通過比較揭示譯者的翻譯方法和策略會在很大程度上受到翻譯目的的影響。本文第一章簡要介紹了論文研究的背景和意義。第二章是文獻綜述,簡單回顧之前對于該領域的研究。第三章是對目的論及其三大原則的呈現(xiàn)。第四章將理論應用于實踐,將目的論的原則應用到具體詩歌的分析中。第五章總結全文,得出分析結論。 本文謹從目的論視角對兩個元曲英譯本進行了比較分析,還望對學界元曲英譯有所助益。
