【摘要】：《水滸傳》作為中國四大名著之一，也是中國第一部白話文小說，具有極高的文學(xué)藝術(shù)價值，它的英譯對中國古典文學(xué)在世界的傳播起著至關(guān)重要的作用。稱謂詞，作為語言的一部分，具有文化特殊性，蘊含了豐富的文化內(nèi)涵。一些學(xué)者已對《水滸傳》稱謂詞開展了研究，包括社會稱謂詞、人物綽號等，但對其文化內(nèi)涵進行研究的較少,對不同譯者在處理稱謂詞文化意蘊采取的不同翻譯策略進行比較研究的幾乎沒有。 德國功能主義翻譯理論產(chǎn)生于20世紀70年代，注重文本和文本功能。根據(jù)不同的文本功能和交際目的，諾德提出兩種翻譯類型，即文獻型翻譯和工具型翻譯。本文試圖將功能翻譯理論運用于文學(xué)翻譯研究中，選取賽珍珠、杰克遜以及沙博理有關(guān)《水滸傳》的三個全英譯本作為研究對象，從翻譯要求、文本功能、交際目的等要素探究三位譯者在處理《水滸傳》稱謂詞文化意蘊時采取不同翻譯策略的動因，并分析他們所采取的具體翻譯方法，認為賽珍珠采取的是文獻型翻譯策略，杰克遜采用的是工具型翻譯策略，，沙博理則采取以工具型翻譯為主，文獻型翻譯為輔的翻譯策略。 本文分為三章。第一章對《水滸傳》進行原文文本分析，發(fā)現(xiàn)它的主要文本功能為表達功能，同時也兼有指稱和呼吁功能。根據(jù)諾德的《翻譯的文本分析模式》，探討了文內(nèi)因素中詞匯這一因素，進而分析了《水滸傳》中稱謂詞及其文化蘊涵。第二章分析三個英譯本出現(xiàn)不同文本功能的原因以及三位譯者在稱謂詞文化意蘊傳遞上所要達到的翻譯效果和翻譯目的。賽珍珠為了重現(xiàn)《水滸傳》的原汁原味，體現(xiàn)中國的語言和文化，譯文以指稱功能為主；杰克遜旨在贊揚反抗精神以及為英國文學(xué)注入新的生機，譯文強調(diào)呼吁功能；沙博理在外文局的要求下傳播中國文化，譯文以表達和指稱功能為主。第三章分析三位譯者在處理稱謂詞文化意蘊采取的具體翻譯方法。賽珍珠主要采取直譯和異國情調(diào)譯法，杰克遜則主要使用意譯和省譯，沙博理主要采用意譯、直譯和對等譯法來實現(xiàn)譯文的文本功能。
