目的論理論下的《牡丹亭》兩譯本的文化負(fù)載詞對比分析

湯顯祖在1598年完成了《牡丹亭還魂記》的寫作。這本書一出來就轟動(dòng)當(dāng)時(shí)的文壇,“家傳戶誦,幾令《西廂》減價(jià)”(沈德符《顧曲雜言》)。作為古代四大名劇之一,《牡丹亭》以其優(yōu)美絢麗的文字表達(dá),幽婉動(dòng)人的故事情節(jié)以及生動(dòng)形象的人物描寫在舞臺上經(jīng)久不衰。除了文學(xué)價(jià)值之外,《牡丹亭》還具有較高的文化價(jià)值。全劇共55出,包含了600多個(gè)文化意象,反映了中國古代歷史、社會(huì)、宗教、神話,具有濃厚的民族色彩,是研究古代文化的重要素材。因此,準(zhǔn)確的將源語的文化內(nèi)涵傳遞給目的語讀者,實(shí)現(xiàn)跨文化的交流,成為《牡丹亭》翻譯的重中之重。20世紀(jì)70年代德國的功能主義翻譯理論開辟了解決文化翻譯的新途徑。其核心理論目的論構(gòu)建了以目的法則為基礎(chǔ)的譯本翻譯和譯本評價(jià)體系。它認(rèn)為翻譯是一種有目的的跨文化的交際行為,譯者根據(jù)預(yù)期的目的決定所采用的翻譯策略和方法。因而,同一個(gè)原文會(huì)因不同的目的而產(chǎn)生不同的譯文和翻譯類型。在目的論中,目的文本好壞的評價(jià)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)不是等值而是充分發(fā)揮了譯者想要譯文發(fā)揮的作用。作者從目的論的視角分別對白之與汪榕培教授的《牡丹亭》的兩部英文全譯本進(jìn)行文化層次上的比較分析,深入研究了譯者的翻譯目的如何影響譯者...
