從歸化異化角度對《西游記》兩個版本譯文作比較研究

【摘要】：自從1995年美國學(xué)者韋努蒂提出異化和歸化理論以來,關(guān)于歸化與異化兩種翻譯策略的討論在中國愈演愈烈。近些年來,許多學(xué)者和翻譯工作者都就此問題表達了自己看法,并對歸化與異化可能的發(fā)展趨勢進行了估計和預(yù)測。本文討論了歸化和異化的歷史由來、理論定義、以及各自的特點。 《西游記》是中國古典四大名著之一,在中國文學(xué)史上占有非常重要的地位,同時在國外也有著廣泛的影響。人們對《西游記》的翻譯一直有著深刻的關(guān)注。目前,兩個版本的《西游記》譯文比較受人歡迎,這兩個版本各有特點。Arthur Waley的版本以歸化翻譯為主,W.J.F.Jenner的版本則以異化為主。作者從歸化和異化翻譯角度對這兩個版本的譯文做了比較研究。 在結(jié)論部分,作者指出《西游記》現(xiàn)行較好的版本仍可以改進,具體指出了哪些地方還可以繼續(xù)提高。最后作者認為,在翻譯《西游記》這種包含較多文化負載詞的時候,異化翻譯是比較好的翻譯策略。
[Abstract]:Since 1995, when the American scholar Weinuti put forward the theory of alienation and domestication, the discussion on domestication and foreignization has become more and more intense in China. In recent years, many scholars and translators have expressed their views on this issue, and have estimated and predicted the possible trend of domestication and alienation. This paper discusses the historical origin, theoretical definition and characteristics of domestication and alienation. "Journey to the West" is one of the four classical Chinese masterpieces. It plays a very important role in the history of Chinese literature and has a wide influence abroad. People have been deeply concerned about the translation of Journey to the West. At present, the translation of two versions of Journey to the West is popular, and the two versions have their own characteristics. The version of Arthur Waley is mainly domesticated and the version of W.J.F. Jenner is mainly dissimilation. The author makes a comparative study of the two versions from the perspectives of domestication and foreignization translation. In the conclusion part, the author points out that the better version of Journey to the West can still be improved, and points out what can be further improved. Finally, the author thinks that foreignization is a better translation strategy when translation of Journey to the West contains more culture-loaded words.
