從改寫理論評(píng)《老人與!返膬蓚(gè)漢譯本

【摘要】:1952年,海明威創(chuàng)作了他一生最杰出的作品—中篇小說《老人與!。小說一經(jīng)出版,便獲得了巨大的成功。這部作品幾乎被翻譯成世界上所有主要的語(yǔ)言,大受歡迎并被奉為經(jīng)典之作。迄今為止,《老人與!返闹形淖g本數(shù)量已經(jīng)達(dá)到了20多種。其中以海觀譯本和黃源深譯本最引人關(guān)注。海觀用詞洗練,而黃源深則以鮮明的異化特色受到廣大讀者的青睞。為何兩譯本的特色如此不同,卻都受到翻譯家的好評(píng)與讀者的喜愛?帶著問題,作者將原著與兩譯本進(jìn)行了通讀,并以改寫理論為理論框架,對(duì)漢譯本進(jìn)行分析。 傳統(tǒng)的譯本評(píng)價(jià)方法側(cè)重于語(yǔ)言分析和文本對(duì)照,并以對(duì)原文的重視程度來衡量譯文的好壞,并不涉及翻譯活動(dòng)如何在主體文化里面運(yùn)作的問題。在這種范疇之中,譯者很難脫離“原文”觀念的限制,也因此不觸及翻譯活動(dòng)與文化間的互動(dòng)作用。由于傳統(tǒng)研究方法的種種不足,本論文以海觀和黃源深翻譯的《老人與!纷鳛閭(gè)案進(jìn)行研究并提出問題,即什么文化及意識(shí)形態(tài)影響兩個(gè)譯本的生成?這些因素是如何體現(xiàn)在譯作中的? 本文以勒非弗爾的改寫理論為基礎(chǔ),引入影響翻譯的四個(gè)因素,研究這些因素在兩名譯者各自的時(shí)代是否對(duì)翻譯活動(dòng)產(chǎn)生了影響。運(yùn)用描述性的研究方法,理論聯(lián)系實(shí)際,運(yùn)用實(shí)例進(jìn)行對(duì)比分析,從不同的語(yǔ)言層面和歷史、文化等角度來研究《老人與海》的兩個(gè)中文譯本,本文選取的兩個(gè)譯本在產(chǎn)生時(shí)間和文化背景上存在較大差異,譯本本身也呈現(xiàn)各自的特色。結(jié)合產(chǎn)生的歷史文化背景,分析了譯者所處時(shí)代的意識(shí)形態(tài)和詩(shī)學(xué)以及譯者自身的意識(shí)形態(tài)和詩(shī)學(xué),探討這些宏觀因素對(duì)譯者的影響,而宏觀因素必然會(huì)反映在譯本的微觀文本差異上。主要探討意識(shí)形態(tài)、贊助人、詩(shī)學(xué)對(duì)翻譯活動(dòng)的影響。研究譯者是如何移植和改寫他們認(rèn)為需要的作品。 經(jīng)過大量翻譯文本的分析,本文得出結(jié)論:在不同的時(shí)代、不同的譯者、所處的文化環(huán)境和歷史背景不同,便會(huì)有不同的意識(shí)形態(tài)傾向,受著不同的主流詩(shī)學(xué)的制約。譯者總是通過操縱手段使譯本符合目的語(yǔ)讀者的意識(shí)形態(tài)和詩(shī)學(xué)傳統(tǒng)以確保其盡可能被更多的讀者接受。通過論證,有助于我們對(duì)譯者和譯作作出客觀、公正的評(píng)價(jià),從而加深對(duì)翻譯行為、尤其是文學(xué)翻譯的認(rèn)識(shí),也有力地論證了勒菲弗爾“改寫”理論的理論及實(shí)踐意義。
[Abstract]:In 1952, Hemingway wrote the greatest novel of his life, the Old Man and the Sea. The novel was a great success once it was published. The work has been translated into almost all the major languages of the world and is popular and classic. So far, the number of Chinese versions of the Old Man and the Sea has reached more than 20. Among them, the translation of Haiguan and Huang Yuanshen attracted the most attention. Haiguan used words, while Huang Yuan-shen was favored by readers with distinct alienation characteristics. Why are the features of the two versions so different, but they are both praised by translators and loved by readers? With questions, the author reads the original and the two versions, and analyzes the Chinese translation based on the theory of rewriting. The traditional methods of translation evaluation focus on language analysis and text contrast, and judge the quality of the target text by the degree of attention to the source text. It is not related to how the translation activities work in the subject culture. In this category, it is difficult for the translator to break away from the limitation of the "original" concept and therefore not to touch on the interaction between translation activities and cultures. Due to the shortcomings of traditional research methods, this thesis takes the translation of the Old Man and the Sea by Huang Yuan-shen as a case study and raises the question, that is, what culture and ideology influence the generation of the two versions? How are these factors reflected in the translation? Based on Lefevere's rewriting theory, this paper introduces four factors that influence translation, and studies whether these factors have influenced translation activities in the respective times of the two translators. Using descriptive research methods, combining theory with practice, and using examples to carry out comparative analysis, this paper studies the two Chinese versions of the Old Man and the Sea from different linguistic levels and historical and cultural perspectives. There are great differences in the time and cultural background of the two versions, and the two versions have their own characteristics. Combined with the historical and cultural background, this paper analyzes the ideology and poetics of the translator's time and the translator's own ideology and poetics, and probes into the influence of these macro factors on the translator. However, macro-factors will inevitably be reflected in the micro-text differences of the translation. This paper mainly discusses the influence of ideology, patronage and poetics on translation activities. Study how translators transplant and rewrite what they think they need. Through the analysis of a large number of translated texts, this paper concludes that in different times, different translators, different cultural environments and historical backgrounds will have different ideological tendencies and will be restricted by different mainstream poetics. Translators always manipulate the target text to conform to the ideological and poetic traditions of the target language readers to ensure that it is accepted by as many readers as possible. Through argumentation, it is helpful for us to make an objective and fair evaluation of the translator and the translated works, thus deepening our understanding of translation behavior, especially literary translation, and proving the theoretical and practical significance of Lefevere's "rewriting" theory.
