【摘要】:At home in Hunan(《湖南是我家》)是一位美國人以回憶錄形式寫作的紀(jì)實(shí)小說,主要描寫作者的父母這輩人,以傳教士身份在1909年至1951年間的湖南,特別是常德,生活和工作的情形。除了文字記錄以外,還有大量珍貴的歷史照片。這對于湖南人,特別是常德人民來說,是第一本外國人寫作的關(guān)于常德的書籍。它是常德人民了解當(dāng)時歷史和社會的一個客觀的窗口,更是富有文學(xué)色彩的珍貴歷史史料。因此將本書選擇作為翻譯實(shí)踐研究的藍(lán)本,既具有歷史意義,又具有文學(xué)價值。 本文首先交代了作者寫作本翻譯實(shí)踐報告的意圖,然后分析了本文的重要性及全文的寫作結(jié)構(gòu)。本文首先對翻譯任務(wù)背景從原文作者及內(nèi)容、原文本背景信息等方面做了交代。并對委托人的背景和要求進(jìn)行了說明。 接著作者對整個翻譯實(shí)踐的過程做了詳細(xì)的描述。從譯前所做的準(zhǔn)備出發(fā),以功能學(xué)派的理論作為支撐,作者還例舉了譯者所運(yùn)用的翻譯方法和技巧,如增譯法、省略法、注釋法等等。針對翻譯過程中出現(xiàn)的種種問題,譯者找出了諸如缺乏跨文化意識,缺少相關(guān)政治歷史背景知識等問題的根源和解決辦法。對于譯后工作,作者與其翻譯伙伴對譯文進(jìn)行了嚴(yán)格的互相校對等一些質(zhì)量控制方法以確保翻譯質(zhì)量。 最后,作者對翻譯過程中出現(xiàn)的未解決問題做了歸納,并對從這次翻譯實(shí)踐中得到的經(jīng)驗(yàn)教訓(xùn)進(jìn)行了總結(jié)。這次翻譯實(shí)踐并不是一個終點(diǎn),而是一個起點(diǎn),它促使作者更加深入地去研究與之相關(guān)的課題,并為作者將此次實(shí)踐的經(jīng)驗(yàn)應(yīng)用到課堂教學(xué)中去提供了豐富的一手資料。
[Abstract]:At home in Hunan ("Hunan is my Home") is a documentary novel written by an American in the form of a memoir, mainly depicting the parents of the author's generation, who lived and worked as missionaries in Hunan, especially Changde, from 1909 to 1951.In addition to the written records, there are also a large number of precious historical photos.This is the first book about Changde written by foreigners, especially the people of Changde.It is an objective window for the people of Changde to understand the history and society of that time, and it is also a precious historical material full of literary color.Therefore, it is of historical significance and literary value to select this book as the model of translation practice.This paper first explains the author's intention of translating the practical report, and then analyzes the importance of the paper and the structure of the paper.Firstly, the background of the translation task is explained in terms of the author and content of the original text and the background information of the original text.The background and requirements of the client are explained.Then the author gives a detailed description of the whole process of translation practice.Starting from the preparation before translation and supported by the theory of functional school, the author also gives examples of translation methods and techniques used by translators, such as incremental translation, ellipsis, annotation and so on.In view of the various problems in the process of translation, the translator finds out the root causes and solutions of the problems, such as the lack of cross-cultural awareness and the lack of relevant political and historical background knowledge.For the post-translation work, the author and his translation partners perform strict proofreading and other quality control methods to ensure the translation quality.Finally, the author sums up the unsolved problems in the translation process and summarizes the experience and lessons learned from the translation practice.This translation practice is not an end point, but a starting point. It urges the author to study the related topics more deeply, and provides rich first-hand materials for the author to apply the experience of this practice to the classroom teaching.
