【摘要】： 《塊肉余生述》是林紓和魏易合譯的作品,也是林紓認為自己翻譯的外國小說中最好的一部。在我國翻譯界,《塊肉余生述》一直是頗有爭議的話題。究其因,不外乎是在該譯本中充滿了刪除、補述等現(xiàn)象。然而,正是這樣一部經(jīng)過特殊處理的作品卻受到當時讀者的熱烈歡迎。本文旨在從目的論的角度對這一現(xiàn)象進行分析。 “目的論”認為,翻譯活動是有目的、有意圖的行為。它主要包含三個法則:目的法則、連貫法則和忠實法則。在這三大法則中,目的法則是首要法則。本文重點是以目的論的三法則為指導,采用演繹法對原文和譯文進行比較,全面、系統(tǒng)取證,分析《塊肉余生述》的目的。 根據(jù)研究,我們堅持認為,林紓在《塊肉余生述》中的補述、刪除等策略的使用是為了達到預期目的。其一,是林紓的個人目的。林紓所處的晚清社會,正是中華民族貧弱之時,當時的呼聲是“西學為用,中學為體”,受當時社會背景的影響,為了救國,為了順應當時學習西方的社會思潮以及宣傳自己的政治思想,林紓采用了特殊的翻譯策略。其二是譯文的目的,即為了讀者容易理解,吸引讀者興趣和保留古文的簡潔性。其三是特定翻譯策略或手段的預期目的,如為了方便讀者閱讀、縮小文化的差異以及宣揚中華民族的傳統(tǒng)美德等。最終,《塊肉余生述》被廣泛接受,較好地實現(xiàn)其預期目的。
[Abstract]:The story of the remaining life of a piece of meat is a co-translation by Lin Shu and Wei Yi, and it is also the best one of the foreign novels that Lin Shu has translated. In the translation circles of our country, the story of the remaining life of a piece of meat has always been a controversial topic. However, it is such a specially treated work that has been warmly welcomed by the readers at that time. This paper aims to analyze this phenomenon from the perspective of teleology. Skopos theory holds that translation activities are purposeful and purposeful actions. It consists of three main rules: Skopos rule, coherence rule and faithfulness rule. Under the guidance of the three principles of Skopos, this paper uses deductive method to compare the original text and the translated text, comprehensively and systematically collects evidence, and analyzes the purpose of "the rest of the Life of the Meat". According to the study, we insist that Lin Shu's supplemental statement in "the rest of the Life of the Meat," and the use of such strategies as deletion are used to achieve the desired purpose. First, it is Lin Shu's personal purpose, the late Qing society in which Lin Shu lived. It was when the Chinese nation was poor and weak that the voice at that time was "Western learning for use, middle school for body", influenced by the social background of the time, in order to save the country, to conform to the social trends of thought in the West at that time and to propagate its own political ideas. Lin Shu adopts a special translation strategy. The second is the purpose of the translation, that is, to make it easy for the reader to understand, to attract the reader's interest and to retain the simplicity of the ancient prose, and the third is the intended purpose of the specific translation strategy or means, for example, to facilitate the reader's reading. Narrowing cultural differences and propagating the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation, etc. Finally, "the rest of the life of a piece of meat" was widely accepted, and its expected purpose was better achieved.
