美國(guó)流行歌曲中的女性形象分析(1960—2003)

【摘要】:本研究和以前對(duì)流行歌詞中女性形象的研究不同,重點(diǎn)在于對(duì)男歌手(包括成員均為男性的樂(lè)隊(duì)組合,樂(lè)隊(duì)成員不一定都是男性但歌手為男性的樂(lè)隊(duì)組合)及女歌手(包括成員均為女性的樂(lè)隊(duì)組合,樂(lè)隊(duì)成員不一定都是女性但歌手為女性的樂(lè)隊(duì)組合)所演唱流行歌曲歌詞中的女性形象進(jìn)行共時(shí)和歷時(shí)的對(duì)比。根據(jù)社會(huì)認(rèn)同理論及性別和認(rèn)識(shí)的關(guān)系,本論文想要驗(yàn)證是否男歌手歌詞中女性形象的否定、消極的程度較高;同時(shí),又根據(jù)文化和認(rèn)識(shí)的關(guān)系,希望能夠?qū)δ信枋炙龅呐孕蜗笤诿绹?guó)特定社會(huì)文化背景(1960-2003)下的變化趨勢(shì)有一正確的認(rèn)識(shí)。由此希望揭示出對(duì)女性形象的認(rèn)識(shí)是怎樣受到性別和文化的影響的。本研究分析了1960-2003 年中涉及男女關(guān)系的流行歌曲(愛(ài)情歌曲/含有性意味的或是色情歌曲),為方便進(jìn)行歷時(shí)變化的對(duì)比,43 年被分為五個(gè)階段,希望能夠解決以下四個(gè)問(wèn)題: 問(wèn)題一:1960-2003 的每一階段中,男女歌手所演唱的歌曲詞中女性形象的不同點(diǎn)是什么? 問(wèn)題二:1960-2003 年中,男歌手詞中體現(xiàn)出的消極否定的女性形象是否有一個(gè)歷時(shí)的減少趨勢(shì)?或是相反? 問(wèn)題三:1960-2003 年中,女歌手中消極否定的女性形象是否有一個(gè)歷時(shí)的減少趨勢(shì)?或是相反? 問(wèn)題四:整個(gè)1960-2003 中,男女歌手所演唱的歌曲中女性形象的不同點(diǎn)是什么? 并且就以上四個(gè)問(wèn)題作出五個(gè)假設(shè)。 其后對(duì)1960-2003 年期間“排行榜”中涉及男女關(guān)系的125 首歌進(jìn)行分析。 采用六個(gè)變量來(lái)分析歌詞中體現(xiàn)出的消極的女性形象:柔順性、支持性、感情聯(lián)系性,依賴性,性對(duì)象和不平等性來(lái)進(jìn)行分析。本研究采用Likert 五點(diǎn)法來(lái)為歌曲樣本編碼。編碼數(shù)據(jù)采用SPSS 軟件(12.0 版本)進(jìn)行統(tǒng)計(jì)分析。 數(shù)據(jù)分析后,得到如下結(jié)論: 1) 1960-2003 年四十三年間的每一階段,男歌手歌曲中所體現(xiàn)出來(lái)的女性形象并不如我們所預(yù)想的比女歌手當(dāng)中的更為消極否定。相反,在每一時(shí)期,對(duì)有顯著不同的變量而言,除1996-2003 年階段的“性對(duì)象”這一變量而外,女歌手歌曲中所體現(xiàn)出來(lái)的女性形象比男歌手中的更為消極、否定。 2) 在四十三年間,男歌手和女歌手歌詞當(dāng)中刻板、消極的女性形象并沒(méi)有如同本研究最初所假設(shè)的呈現(xiàn)下降趨勢(shì)。
[Abstract]:Unlike previous studies on female images in popular lyrics, this study focuses on male singers, including bands with male members.Band members are not necessarily male but singers are male bands) and female singers (including bands with female members),Band members are not necessarily female but singers are female bands.) the female characters in the lyrics of pop songs are compared in synchronic and diachronic ways.According to the theory of social identity and the relationship between gender and cognition, this thesis wants to verify whether the negative degree of female image in the lyrics of male singers is high, and at the same time, according to the relationship between culture and cognition,It is hoped that we can have a correct understanding of the changing trend of female figures sung by male and female singers under the specific sociocultural background of the United States (1960-2003).The author hopes to reveal how the understanding of female image is influenced by gender and culture.This study analyzed the relationship between men and women in 1960-2003 pop songs (love songs / sexual or pornographic songs), in order to facilitate diachronic changes in 43 years were divided into five stages, hoping to solve the following four problems:Question 1: at each stage of 1960-2003, what are the differences between female images in the songs sung by male and female singers?Question 2: in 1960-2003, is there a diachronic decline in the negative female image reflected in male singers' lyrics?Or the opposite?Question 3: in 1960-2003, is there a downward trend in negative female images among female singers?Or the opposite?Question 4: throughout 1960-2003, what are the differences between female images in songs sung by male and female singers?And make five hypotheses on the above four questions.Then it analyzed 125 songs about relationship between men and women in the rankings between 1960 and 2003.Six variables are used to analyze the negative female images in the lyrics: compliance, support, emotional connection, dependence, sex objects and inequality.In this study, the Likert five-point method was used to encode the song samples.The coded data were analyzed by SPSS software version 12.0.After analysis of the data, the following conclusions were drawn:1) at every stage of the 43 years from 1960 to 2003, the female image in the male singer's songs was not as negative as we expected.On the contrary, for the significantly different variables in each period, with the exception of the "sex object" in the period 1996-2003, female singers' images of women in songs are more negative and negative than those of male singers.2) in 43 years, the stereotype of male and female singers' lyrics did not show the downward trend as originally assumed in this study.
