【摘要】：斯義桂早年就讀于上海國立音樂專科學校(上海音樂學院前身)，先后師從應尚能(1)教授及俄籍蘇石林(Vladimir Grigoriyevich Shushlin，1895-1978)(2)教授主修聲樂。畢業(yè)前后，即頻繁演出于上海、南京、香港、重慶、天津、青島、漢口等地：在抗日戰(zhàn)爭的大后方，在為前方將士募捐義演的音樂會上，他的歌聲讓人久久不能忘懷。 1947年斯義桂去美國，進一步的學習深造使他的演唱技藝更臻成熟并到達爐火純青的境地。他的演唱足跡遍及美洲、歐洲、澳大利亞、新西蘭、東南亞以及臺灣、香港等地；與世界上許多著名的指揮家和管弦樂團合作過；曲目范圍廣泛，涉及不同時期、不同形式、風格的多種語言的聲樂作品；匯中西方文化要義及審美觀念于一爐，講究神韻，，強調(diào)秀氣，在用嗓及詮釋上均有獨到之處。其業(yè)績獲得廣泛的認可與好評，被公認為是世界一流的歌唱家。他還演唱過大量的中國藝術歌曲和民歌，對于美聲唱法中國化作了有意義的探索。 1970年起，斯義桂在美國克利夫蘭音樂學院及羅切斯特大學伊斯特曼音樂學院擔任聲樂教職，后來更被伊斯特曼音樂學院聘為聲樂系主任、終身教授。他將自己豐富的演唱經(jīng)驗融注到教學之中，培養(yǎng)了一大批高水平的學生。 1979年，為報效祖國，他專程到母校上海音樂學院講學，把他多年來在西方從事演唱、教學的經(jīng)驗和盤托出，給予來自全國的聲樂工作者以毫無保留的指導與幫助，并針對中國聲樂界當時存在的問題予以及時的提醒和糾正，引起很大反響。
[Abstract]:In his early years, Si-kui studied vocal music at the Shanghai National Conservatory of Music (the predecessor of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, under the teacher of Ying Shangneng 1) and Russian professor Vladimir Grigoriyevich Shushlinn (1895-1978). Before and after graduation, he performed frequently in Shanghai, Nanjing, Hong Kong, and Chongqing. Since 1970, Seiki has held vocal teaching positions at the Cleveland Conservatory of Music and the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester, and has since been appointed head of the Department of vocal Music by Eastman Conservatory of Music. Lifelong professor. He integrated his rich singing experience into teaching and raised a large number of high-level students. In 1979, to serve his motherland, he made a special trip to his alma mater, the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, to give lectures on his many years of singing and teaching in the West and to give unreserved guidance and assistance to vocal music workers from all over the country. At that time, the problems in Chinese vocal music were reminded and corrected in time, which caused great repercussions.
