【摘要】：本文采用功能語言學(xué)方法對中美博士論文英文摘要中的名詞化進(jìn)行觀察對比分析,旨在揭示中美博士論文英文摘要中名詞化的使用特點(diǎn)以及應(yīng)用效果。研究以中美博士論文英文摘要為觀察對象,著重從名詞化使用頻率、型式選擇以及使用效果對名詞化的使用進(jìn)行了觀察、對比和分析。本文從中國博士論文庫和美國各大學(xué)數(shù)字圖書館抽取2010年到2013年到博士論文英文摘要一百五十篇(中美作者各七十五篇)作為研究對象,并根據(jù)韓禮德的語法隱喻理論對這些語料進(jìn)行分析研究。研究結(jié)果顯示中美博士論文英文摘要中名詞化使用較為普遍,且主要分布在“引言”和“結(jié)果”語步中,“方法”和“討論”語步中出現(xiàn)的名詞化相對較少。兩類文本中名詞化型式應(yīng)用的順序類似:過程名詞化,特征名詞化,零位名詞化,環(huán)境成分名詞化和關(guān)系名詞化,其中過程名詞化和特征名詞化在中美博士論文英文摘要中的使用都最多。具體分析和對比顯示美國作者博士論文英文摘要中名詞化使用在數(shù)量和型式選擇上比中國作者論文摘要更加頻繁多樣。在使用目的以及效果方面,中美博士論文英文摘要中名詞化所實(shí)現(xiàn)的功能依次為:致密化功能,擴(kuò)展性功能,正式性功能,最優(yōu)性功能,客觀性功能和銜接性功能,其中致密化功能和擴(kuò)展性功能使用最為頻繁。與中國作者相比,美國作者博士論文摘要中在使用名詞化實(shí)現(xiàn)上述各項(xiàng)功能的過程中更加靈活多樣。本文從系統(tǒng)功能語法的視角,采用定量和定性相結(jié)合的研究方法對中美博士論文英文摘要進(jìn)行了觀察、分析和對比,明確了中美博士論文英文摘要中名詞化的使用特點(diǎn)及異同,深化了有關(guān)名詞化在學(xué)術(shù)語篇中運(yùn)作過程和機(jī)制的認(rèn)識,同時(shí)也為學(xué)術(shù)論文寫作及教學(xué)提供了相應(yīng)參考。
