庫切小說《等待野蠻人》對歷史權(quán)威的解構(gòu)

作為生活在南非種族隔離時期的小說家,庫切因為在其作品中隱晦的政治立場,并拒絕使用現(xiàn)實主義寫作手法而受到眾多南非本土作家的批評。他們認(rèn)為庫切的小說在地理和時間背景上都脫離了南非的種族隔離現(xiàn)狀,在政治上缺乏斗爭性,沒有承擔(dān)起小說家的社會責(zé)任。但庫切本人認(rèn)為,傳統(tǒng)的現(xiàn)實主義手法已經(jīng)難以表現(xiàn)南非那段不可再現(xiàn)的歷史,而且單一的寫作模式讓小說成為了歷史的附庸,對于揭示歷史話語的深層結(jié)構(gòu)毫無用處。雖然他的小說背景往往都是虛構(gòu)或模糊的,但“歷史”一直是庫切作品關(guān)注的一個重要話題,對小說和歷史之間關(guān)系的思索貫穿在他大部分小說中。他不否認(rèn)歷史事實的存在,但他更著重于探索以作家的身份對抗歷史話語的建構(gòu)性和權(quán)威性。本文以《等待野蠻人》為例,探討作者庫切如何揭示帝國建構(gòu)歷史權(quán)威的方式并解構(gòu)官方歷史的權(quán)威,揭示帝國歷史和歷史敘事的本質(zhì),進(jìn)而重新認(rèn)識歷史和小說的關(guān)系。本文正文部分包括三章。第一章論述帝國建構(gòu)歷史權(quán)威的方式,即通過建構(gòu)主體優(yōu)越性權(quán)威、法律權(quán)威和歷史書寫的權(quán)威來確定官方歷史的權(quán)威性。第二章剖析庫切在小說中如何解構(gòu)帝國建構(gòu)的歷史權(quán)威,對帝國歷史權(quán)威性的三個方面一一進(jìn)行解構(gòu)。第三章分析庫切通過對歷史權(quán)威的解...
