本文是一篇科技類題材的英漢翻譯實踐報告,節(jié)選自《巽他古陸——探尋文明的起源》第二章,由作者達哈尼·伊爾萬托撰寫。該書內容涉獵廣泛,涉及地質學、考古學、人類學、生物學等多個學科領域。所選翻譯章節(jié)對早期人類遷徙情況進行了全面介紹,包括人類遷徙原因、遷徙模式及其所創(chuàng)文明。本報告首先介紹了原文作者和內容。通過對原文內容和語言進行分析,報告著重總結了翻譯過程中的翻譯難點并且給出相應的解決方法。翻譯難點主要是從詞法層面和句法層面進行分析。詞匯方面,針對原文中的術語,主要是通過參考專業(yè)詞典和平行材料進行翻譯,實現術語翻譯的統(tǒng)一化。再者,用加腳注的方式解釋術語同時不損譯文流暢度。名詞化結構也是翻譯一大難點,翻譯時主要采用了詞類轉換及成分轉化,化靜為動,把名詞轉換為動詞。報告中主要分析了兩種句子類型:定語從句和同位語從句。譯者根據句子邏輯順序,用順譯法和倒譯法處理定語從句,在不同情景中用分譯法、合譯法以及轉換法處理同位語從句。在翻譯實踐過程中,譯者發(fā)現了自己在漢語寫作和英語理解方面的不足對翻譯造成影響,希望在以后的學習中能夠提高自己的翻譯能力。
