英語詞匯的詞性存在兼類現(xiàn)象,例如在詞典中我們發(fā)現(xiàn)有些詞具有多個詞性,這些詞被稱為兼類詞。顯然,在實際使用中,一個兼類詞的各個詞性被使用的頻率并不相等,其分布規(guī)律,只能在動態(tài)文本中觀察到。因此,本文基于BNC語料庫采用計量方法研究英語兼類詞各個詞性之間的頻率分布,并使用統(tǒng)計模型描述其數(shù)學(xué)特征。首先,我們從BNC語料庫中提取出所有的兼類詞,根據(jù)兼類詞的兼類度,即一個詞所承載的詞性個數(shù),進(jìn)行分類,然后觀察兼類詞各詞性的頻率分布情況,觀察發(fā)現(xiàn),任一兼類詞的各個詞性之間,其頻率呈不均勻分布,其中頻率最高者,我們稱為主導(dǎo)詞性。其次,我們把兼類詞劃分為名詞集合、動詞集合、形容詞集合等十種詞性的集合,并對這十種詞性集合中各主導(dǎo)詞性的詞頻分布情況進(jìn)行研究,發(fā)現(xiàn)除了在動詞集合和形容詞集合中,使用頻率最高的是名詞外,其余所有詞性集合中使用頻率最高的主導(dǎo)詞性是它們本身。在這十種詞性集合中,主導(dǎo)詞性的詞頻和秩序之間的關(guān)系符合Popescu-Altmann定律。第三,為了深入研究頻率集中的現(xiàn)象,我們采取計量語言學(xué)的方法,引入重復(fù)率和相對重復(fù)率來度量兼類詞的頻率集中于主導(dǎo)詞性的程度,即頻率集中度。通過觀察不同兼類度...
