《土門》是中國當(dāng)代作家賈平凹的代表作品之一,發(fā)表于1996年,講述了農(nóng)村城市化的故事。小說中包含了大量陜西地域文化和習(xí)俗,人物對白引用了大量的傳說、典故。雖然中文版本出版早,但英文版本出版時間不長,故相關(guān)的英譯研究較少。本文作者運用喬治·斯坦納闡釋學(xué)理論探討胡宗峰和賀龍平兩位譯者合譯的《土門》英譯本,以期拓寬陜西現(xiàn)代作品英譯的研究領(lǐng)域�；谡軐W(xué)闡釋學(xué),喬治·斯坦納提出翻譯活動的四步驟:信賴、侵入、吸收、補償。喬治·斯坦納闡釋學(xué)翻譯理論的第一步是信賴,即相信原作具有翻譯價值。第二,譯者在表達原文意思時會有意或無意地侵入原文本。譯者侵入了原文的各個方面,如:社會背景、物質(zhì)文化、宗教信仰、語言表達等。第三步是譯者從文化意義和語言形式出發(fā)將原文的意思融入譯文。最后針對翻譯中信息缺失,譯者要采取不同手段進行補償。本文以喬治·斯坦納在闡釋學(xué)基礎(chǔ)上提出的翻譯四步驟為理論指導(dǎo),以賈平凹《土門》英譯本為研究對象,采用文獻分析法、個案研究法、比較分析法探析譯者在翻譯過程中是如何通過信賴、侵入、吸收、補償四個步驟實現(xiàn)原文與譯文、陜西地域文化與西方文化的平衡。通過研究發(fā)現(xiàn),闡釋學(xué)翻譯理論的四個步驟貫穿了《土門...
