【摘要】：黃玉雪(1922-2006)是美國重要少數(shù)族裔作家,被湯婷婷譽(yù)為“華裔美國文學(xué)之母”。其著作《華女阿五》,是華裔美國文學(xué)的開山作,也是最早擁有大量美國讀者的華裔小說之一。該小說以自傳體形式,反映二十世紀(jì)上半葉一個(gè)華裔美籍少女玉雪為事業(yè)奮斗成功的歷程。主人公作為少數(shù)族裔,中國文化與美國文化的差異致使她對生活處境迷茫不解。面臨祖國本土文化與美國文化抉擇問題,她陷入身份建構(gòu)困境。為呈現(xiàn)主人公身份建構(gòu)的客觀性,本文運(yùn)用后殖民作家賽義德的東方主義理論、斯皮瓦克的“屬下”理論和霍米巴巴的雜糅身份理論,采用定性分析和文本細(xì)讀法,以主人公與中國傳統(tǒng)文、美國主流文化的沖突、交融為切入點(diǎn),對其身份建構(gòu)困境從以下三個(gè)方面進(jìn)行解讀。第一,玉雪在建構(gòu)身份時(shí)遇到的困境。玉雪夾雜在中美文化間,一方面作為“他者”,受到美國在教育和工作上的種族歧視;另一方面作為“屬下”,在美國人和家人中“失語”,陷入女性身份建構(gòu)困境。第二,玉雪身份建構(gòu)的文化語境的現(xiàn)實(shí)性。玉雪自小生活在中美文化雜糅環(huán)境中,深受中美食物、中美教育、中美思想的影響,無法完全舍棄中國文化或者美國文化,不顧現(xiàn)實(shí)生存環(huán)境,生存在文化孤島上,所以最終自然而然地選擇了雜糅身份建構(gòu)。第三,玉雪身份建構(gòu)的歷程及意義。受雜糅文化影響,玉雪結(jié)合中美文化優(yōu)勢,踏上尋求“美國夢”之路,逐夢過程中,她解構(gòu)了對立的東構(gòu)西方文化模式,表明“屬下”可以說話,成功改寫文化身份,重塑華裔美國人形象。通過對玉雪身份建構(gòu)困境、現(xiàn)實(shí)性、歷程及其意義的分析,研究表明:后殖民及全球化語境下,少數(shù)族裔面對身份困境時(shí),應(yīng)去除中美文化糟粕,吸取中美文化精華,塑造雜糅身份;構(gòu)建雜糅身份符合時(shí)代要求。
[Abstract]:Huang Yuxue (1922-2006) is an important American minority writer and is praised by Tang Tingting as "the mother of Chinese American Literature". His book, "five women in China", is the opening of Chinese American literature, and is one of the first Chinese American novels to have a large number of American readers. In the form of autobiography, the novel reflects the success of a Chinese American girl, jade snow, in the first half of the twentieth Century. As a minority, the difference between Chinese culture and American culture makes her confused about the situation of life. Facing the local culture of the motherland and the choice of American culture, she is trapped in the dilemma of identity construction. To show the hero objectivity of identity construction, the theory of Orientalism and Spivak the postcolonial writer Saeed's "subaltern" and Homi Bhabha's hybridity identity theory, using qualitative analysis and detailed reading of the text, the protagonist and the Chinese traditional culture, mainstream American culture conflicts and integration as the starting point of the identity dilemma is interpreted from the following three aspects. First, Jade Snow in the construction of the identity of the difficulties encountered. Jade Snow is a mixture of Chinese and American cultures. On the one hand, it is discriminated against as "the other" on the one hand. It is racially discriminated by the United States in education and work. On the other hand, as a "subordinate", "Aphasia" among Americans and family members is trapped in the dilemma of female identity construction. Second, the cultural context of the construction of Jade Snow identity. Jade Snow child living in the Sino US cultural hybridity is deeply influenced by the environment, food, education, Sino US Sino US Sino US thought, can not completely abandon the China culture or American culture, regardless of the reality of living environment, living in the culture of the island, so naturally chose the miscellaneous Rou identity construction. Third, the process and significance of the construction of Jade Snow identity. The hybridity of cultural influence, combined with Jade Snow cultural advantage, seek the "American Dream" walking on the road, in the process of pursuing dreams, she deconstructs the cultural pattern of the East West confrontation structure, that "subaltern" can talk, successful rewriting of cultural identity of Chinese Americans, reshaping the image. The Jade Snow identity dilemma, reality, history and its significance of the analysis, the results show that the colonial and the context of globalization, ethnic minorities face identity dilemma, should remove cultural dross, absorb cultural essence, creating a hybrid identity; construction of hybridity accords with the requirements of the times.
