本研究的主要目的是探討溝通對項目成功的影響,以及溝通對巴基斯坦建筑業(yè)沖突的調(diào)解作用。巴基斯坦的建筑業(yè)面臨著溝通不暢和沖突問題,因此尋找溝通類型和沖突類型的中介作用對項目成功的影響是本研究的主要內(nèi)容。實證數(shù)據(jù)來自拉合爾市的大中型建筑公司。利用結構方程模型（SEM）技術對實驗數(shù)據(jù)進行了驗證,并推導出實驗結果。本研究的所有假設都得到了驗證。結果表明,正式溝通對建設項目的成功有負面影響,容易引起項目團隊成員之間沖突,而非正式溝通和溝通意愿對項目成功有積極影響,因為人們往往相互了解,從而讓信任得到發(fā)展,溝通得到加強。任務、過程和關系沖突被用作中介變量。研究發(fā)現(xiàn),任務沖突對關系的影響是積極的,因為項目團隊成員會提出不同的方法來完成某項任務,從而獲得項目的成功。相反,過程沖突和關系沖突會對溝通和項目成功之間的關系產(chǎn)生負面影響。這兩種沖突都會引起負面溝通、導致項目失敗。因此,項目經(jīng)理（PM）有責任加強項目團隊成員之間的溝通,減少或盡可能簡化過程和關系沖突,這些涉及到對項目成功產(chǎn)生不利影響的因素。
