茜草科是世界被子植物第四大科,約占所有全球開花植物的4%,廣布于熱帶和亞熱帶地區(qū),少數(shù)草本延伸至寒帶。撒哈拉以南非洲,包括熱帶東非地區(qū),特別是肯尼亞和坦桑尼亞的山區(qū)和沿海森林,具有大量的茜草科植物,特別是稀有和特有物種。近年來,一些茜草科的新類群在肯尼亞不斷被發(fā)現(xiàn),同時一些新記錄也陸續(xù)被報道,表明該地區(qū)茜草科多樣性研究還不夠充分。本研究的目的是通過標本查閱和野外考察,查明肯尼亞茜草科植物的多樣性,并記錄其在肯尼亞47個縣的詳細分布,同時,依據(jù)最新的分子系統(tǒng)對該科植物進行修訂,為編撰《肯尼亞植物志》提供本底資料。本研究對來自東非植物標本館（EA）、英國皇家植物園植物標本館（Kew）和中國科學院武漢植物園植物標本館（HIB）的肯尼亞茜草科2萬多份標本進行了核查和數(shù)字化,并根據(jù)最新的分類系統(tǒng)對所有物種進行了修訂,得到肯尼亞茜草科植物的物種名錄。通過所有標本的詳細經(jīng)緯度信息,計算各物種的空間分布以及縣級的物種豐富度和特有豐富度。研究結(jié)果表明,肯尼亞茜草科植物共274種,隸屬于3亞科32個族81屬。在47個縣級的物種豐富度分析種顯示,物種豐富度最高的屬是九節(jié)屬（Psychotria）、大沙葉屬（...
