單片集成放大反饋激光器的脈沖包絡(luò)動力學(xué)特性研究

【摘要】:光反饋是半導(dǎo)體激光器(SLs)最為常見的外部擾動方式之一。根據(jù)外腔往返時間和激光器自身弛豫振蕩周期的大小關(guān)系可將光反饋SLs系統(tǒng)分為長外腔反饋SLs(LCR-SLs)系統(tǒng)和短外腔反饋SLs(SCR-SLs)系統(tǒng)。SCR-SLs系統(tǒng)中較短的反饋外腔導(dǎo)致系統(tǒng)輸出對于反饋光相位十分敏感,即使微小的相位變化也會引起系統(tǒng)的非線性動力學(xué)狀態(tài)顯著改變。由于反饋腔中需要置入控制反饋參量的其他元件,搭建離散的SCR-SLs系統(tǒng)比搭建LCR-SLs系統(tǒng)更具難度且難以將外腔長度降到厘米級水平。為了構(gòu)建更短的SCR-SLs系統(tǒng),人們提出了基于光子集成技術(shù)的實現(xiàn)方案,即將多個功能區(qū)集成在同一芯片上成為單片集成放大反饋激光器(AFL)。AFL反饋腔長更短、反饋參量更易調(diào)節(jié)、性質(zhì)更穩(wěn)定、也更適應(yīng)商用發(fā)展。近些年來,國內(nèi)外相關(guān)學(xué)者對單片集成AFL輸出的非線性動力學(xué)特性展開了一系列實驗和理論探索。最近實驗研究表明單片集成AFL可產(chǎn)生脈沖包絡(luò)(PPs)動力學(xué)態(tài),但系統(tǒng)地對其輸出PPs特性的研究還未見報道。本文實驗研究了由分布反饋激光器區(qū)(DFB區(qū))、相位控制區(qū)(P區(qū))以及放大反饋區(qū)(A區(qū))所構(gòu)成的三段式單片集成AFL產(chǎn)生的PPs的動力學(xué)特征。借助于AFL輸出的功率譜以及時間序列的自相關(guān)函數(shù)曲線分析了放大反饋區(qū)電流I_A和相位控制區(qū)電流I_P對PPs的重復(fù)頻率ν_(PP)和包絡(luò)規(guī)則性的影響。研究結(jié)果表明:相對較大的DFB區(qū)電流IDFB會使AFL輸出兩個模式,此時合理調(diào)節(jié)I_P與I_A可使AFL輸出PPs動力學(xué)狀態(tài)。隨后的研究中我們將IDFB固定在86.15mA以保證AFL工作在雙模區(qū)域。對于一給定I_P=96.00 mA,AFL可在兩個不連續(xù)的I_A區(qū)域內(nèi)呈現(xiàn)PPs狀態(tài)。隨著I_A的增加,AFL輸出PPs的重復(fù)頻率ν_(PP)在I_A較小的區(qū)域內(nèi)呈現(xiàn)單調(diào)下降趨勢,而在I_A較大區(qū)域內(nèi)會先減小然后出現(xiàn)小范圍波動。與此同時,時間序列自相關(guān)函數(shù)的次最大值σ在I_A相對較小區(qū)域內(nèi)與ν_(PP)的變化趨勢相近,而當(dāng)I_A較大的區(qū)域內(nèi)則呈現(xiàn)出先增大后減小的趨勢。對于一給定I_A=9.00mA,I_P的變化會顯著影響系統(tǒng)輸出PPs的特性,在滿足AFL呈現(xiàn)PPs狀態(tài)的I_P區(qū)域內(nèi),隨著I_P的增加,ν_(PP)呈現(xiàn)出先減小后增大的趨勢,σ則表現(xiàn)出與ν_(PP)近似相反的變化趨勢。通過觀測I_A,I_P連續(xù)變化時AFL輸出的動力學(xué)狀態(tài),給出了AFL在I_A和I_P構(gòu)成的參量空間中呈現(xiàn)PPs分布圖譜,并利用σ對PPs動力學(xué)規(guī)則特性進行了分析及判定。
[Abstract]:Optical feedback is one of the most common external disturbances for semiconductor lasers (SLS). According to the relationship between the external cavity round trip time and the relaxation oscillation period of the laser itself, the optical feedback SLs system can be divided into long external cavity feedback SLS LCR-SLs system and short external cavity feedback SLS system. The short external cavity in the SCR-SLs system causes the output of the system to be very sensitive to the phase of the feedback light. Even a small change in phase can cause a significant change in the nonlinear dynamic state of the system, since other elements that control the feedback parameters need to be placed in the feedback cavity. It is more difficult to build discrete SCR-SLs system than to build LCR-SLs system, and it is difficult to reduce the length of external cavity to centimeter level. In order to build a shorter SCR-SLs system, people put forward a scheme based on photon integration technology. That is to say, multiple functional areas are integrated on the same chip as a monolithic integrated amplifier feedback laser. The feedback cavity is shorter, the feedback parameters are easier to adjust, the properties are more stable, and they are more suitable for commercial development. A series of experiments and theoretical researches have been carried out on the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of monolithic integrated AFL output. Recent experimental studies show that monolithic integrated AFL can produce pulse envelope AFL dynamics state. However, the systematic study of the output PPs characteristics has not been reported. In this paper, the three-segment monolithic integrated AFL, which consists of the distributed feedback laser region, the phase control region and the amplifying feedback region, is experimentally studied. The dynamic characteristics of the generated PPs. By means of the power spectrum of the AFL output and the autocorrelation function curve of the time series, the repetition rate of the amplified feedback current I _ A and the phase-controlled current I _ P to the PPs are analyzed. The results show that the relatively large current IDFB in the DFB region causes the AFL to output two modes. In the subsequent study, we fixed the IDFB at 86.15mA to ensure that the AFL works in the dual-mode region. For a given IAPL 96.00 mAAAFL can present PPs in two discontinuous ISAs. With the increase of PPs, the repetition rate of AFL output PPs shows a monotone downward trend in the smaller area of IAPL. At the same time, the sub-maximum 蟽 of the autocorrelation function of time series is similar to the variation trend of 謂 / PPV in the relatively small region of IStua. However, when the number of PPs is larger, the tendency of increasing first and then decreasing. For a given IP of 9.00 mA-1, the characteristic of output PPs of the system will be significantly affected, and in the IP region which satisfies the PPs state of AFL, the characteristics of the output PPs of the system will be significantly affected, and in the IP region where the AFL presents the state of PPs, the characteristics of the system output PPs will be significantly affected. With the increase of the number of AFL, there is a tendency of decreasing at first and then increasing. 蟽 shows a trend which is approximately opposite to that of AFL. The dynamic state of output of AFL is observed by observing the dynamic state of the output of AFL with continuous variation of IAPs. The distribution of AFL in the parametric space of I _ S _ A and I _ s _ p is given, and the characteristic of PPs dynamic rule is analyzed and determined by 蟽.
