【摘要】：一戰(zhàn)前后,美國(guó)"進(jìn)步主義"跨越太平洋,在中國(guó)大行其道。這既是由于一戰(zhàn)所造成的特殊的國(guó)際情境使然,還與美國(guó)駐華公使芮恩施、歐美同學(xué)會(huì)及其姊妹團(tuán)體中國(guó)社會(huì)政治學(xué)會(huì)的努力提倡有關(guān)。進(jìn)步主義的兩大思想流派,即實(shí)驗(yàn)主義與威爾遜主義對(duì)"五四"時(shí)期的中國(guó)文化、政治、外交等方面都造成了不同程度的影響。胡適將實(shí)驗(yàn)主義引入學(xué)術(shù)研究,開創(chuàng)了現(xiàn)代中國(guó)學(xué)術(shù)研究的新典范,使得進(jìn)步主義對(duì)現(xiàn)代中國(guó)的學(xué)術(shù)發(fā)展產(chǎn)生了持久性影響;威爾遜主義不僅激發(fā)了"五四"知識(shí)分子參與政治的熱情,還催生了1920年代初期的"好政府主義"與"好人內(nèi)閣"。好政府主義固然具有中國(guó)的"圣王精神"傳統(tǒng),但是美國(guó)進(jìn)步主義也是不應(yīng)忽略的外來思想源流。美國(guó)駐華公使芮恩施既是外交官,又是著名學(xué)者,他的知名學(xué)者身份使其成為歐美留學(xué)生的"精神導(dǎo)師"。作為留學(xué)生的"精神導(dǎo)師",芮恩施利用他的學(xué)術(shù)威望鼓勵(lì)歐美同學(xué)會(huì)和中國(guó)社會(huì)政治學(xué)會(huì)傳播美國(guó)的進(jìn)步主義,推動(dòng)中國(guó)的進(jìn)步主義改革運(yùn)動(dòng)。但是,在四分五裂的北洋軍閥時(shí)代,芮恩施與歐美留學(xué)生的進(jìn)步主義改革嘗試,由于缺乏堅(jiān)實(shí)的社會(huì)基礎(chǔ),其在政治上的失敗固在情理之中。
[Abstract]:Before and after World War I, American "progressionism" crossed the Pacific Ocean and prevailed in China. This is not only due to the special international situation caused by World War I, but also related to the efforts and advocacy of the American Minister to China, the European and American students' Association and its sister group, the Chinese Society of Social and political Affairs. The two major schools of progressionism, namely experimentalism and Wilson's doctrine, have influenced Chinese culture, politics and diplomacy in the May 4th period to varying degrees. Hu Shi introduced experimentalism into academic research, created a new paradigm of modern Chinese academic research, and made progressive doctrine have a lasting influence on the academic development of modern China. Wilsonism not only aroused the enthusiasm of May 4th intellectuals to participate in politics, but also gave birth to the early 1920s "good government" and "good cabinet." Although good government has the tradition of "holy king spirit" in China, American progressionism is also the source of foreign thoughts that should not be ignored. American Minister to China Ruinshi is both a diplomat and a famous scholar. His status as a famous scholar makes him a "spiritual mentor" for foreign students in Europe and the United States. As a "spiritual mentor" for foreign students, Ruensch used his academic prestige to encourage American and European societies and Chinese sociopolitical societies to spread American progressionism and promote China's progressive reform movement. However, in the era of the divided Northern warlords, Rui Enshi and the foreign students of Europe and the United States tried to reform their progressionism, because of the lack of a solid social foundation, their political failure was fixed in reason.
