【摘要】：正光緒三十年(1904年)三月至十月,美國為了慶賀購買路易斯安那100周年,在圣路易斯城舉辦了一次萬國賽會(即世界博覽會),并向清王朝發(fā)出了參展邀請。面對這次邀請,慈禧與光緒帝考慮到如果參會,定能緩和大清與西方各國之間的關(guān)系,因此態(tài)度十分積極,不僅派出高級別的官員作為代表,而且還送去各種展品,其中最為引人矚目的一件展品,便是慈禧圣容畫像。
[Abstract]:To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Louisiana purchase, Guang Xu held a World Exposition in St. Louis City from March to October, 1904, and sent an invitation to the Qing Dynasty. In the face of this invitation, Cixi and Guang Xu considered that if they attended the conference, they would certainly ease the relations between the Qing Dynasty and western countries. Therefore, they took a very positive attitude and sent not only high-level officials as representatives, but also various exhibits. One of the most striking exhibits is the portrait of Cixi's saint.
