“道德救國(guó)”:蔡元培與北京大學(xué)的政治參與

【摘要】：1917年初,蔡元培就任北京大學(xué)校長(zhǎng)之后,在任期內(nèi)實(shí)施他的"學(xué)術(shù)救國(guó)"與"道德救國(guó)"理念。蔡元培對(duì)北大師生的道德革新,雖然主觀上沒(méi)有鼓勵(lì)北大師生參與政治的意圖,卻在客觀上養(yǎng)成了北大師生的參政意識(shí)。1918年底第一次世界大戰(zhàn)結(jié)束,不僅促進(jìn)了國(guó)際和平潮流的出現(xiàn),還激發(fā)了以蔡元培為首的北大師生的參政熱情。至此,蔡元培對(duì)北大的"道德革新"運(yùn)動(dòng)與一戰(zhàn)后的國(guó)際和平運(yùn)動(dòng)形成互動(dòng),進(jìn)一步促使北京大學(xué)介入政治領(lǐng)域。五四運(yùn)動(dòng)前夕,蔡元培一度嘗試讓北京大學(xué)遠(yuǎn)離政治紛爭(zhēng),但是學(xué)生參與愛(ài)國(guó)運(yùn)動(dòng)已經(jīng)成為新的時(shí)代潮流。為此,蔡元培與時(shí)俱進(jìn),對(duì)學(xué)生界提出一個(gè)新的政治口號(hào):讀書不忘救國(guó),救國(guó)不忘讀書。
[Abstract]:After becoming president of Peking University in early 1917, Cai Yuanpei carried out his ideas of "academic salvation" and "moral salvation" during his term of office. Cai Yuanpei's moral reform of Peking University teachers and students, although subjectively did not encourage teachers and students to participate in politics, but objectively cultivated the sense of political participation of Peking University teachers and students. It not only promotes the emergence of the international peace trend, but also stimulates the enthusiasm of the teachers and students of Peking University, led by Cai Yuanpei. On the eve of the May 4th Movement, Cai Yuanpei tried to keep Peking University away from political strife, but student participation in the patriotic movement has become a new trend of the times. For this reason, Cai Yuanpei keeps pace with the times and puts forward a new political slogan to the student circle: reading not forgetting to save the nation, saving the nation from reading.
