【摘要】：正葉志超,字曙青,安徽合肥縣人。早年從淮軍劉銘傳,參加征剿太平軍、捻軍,以戰(zhàn)功積升至總兵。光緒十五年(1889年),直隸總督李鴻章力薦其"驍勇堅強(qiáng),饒有智略,講求利器,訓(xùn)練得力,隨剿粵捻,戰(zhàn)功卓著……其才可當(dāng)一面"~((1)),擢任直隸提督。二十年甲午之役,奉命選帶練軍入朝,授為總統(tǒng)援朝諸軍,卻虛報戰(zhàn)況,鋪張冒功,`G怯畏敵,毫無布置,平壤一役全軍潰敗,一路奔逃直過鴨綠江。事聞,清廷大為震怒,下令將葉志超革職,逮送京師,經(jīng)刑部審實(shí),擬定斬監(jiān)候,秋后處決。那么,葉志超后來的結(jié)局如何呢?
