【摘要】：從十九世紀(jì)中葉開(kāi)始,許多英美傳教士來(lái)到福建傳播基督教,他們?cè)趯?xiě)給差會(huì)的報(bào)告中和所撰寫(xiě)的著述中記錄了福建民眾公共生活空間的許多層面,試圖將福建作為一個(gè)典型的中國(guó)省份介紹給當(dāng)時(shí)對(duì)中國(guó)很陌生的西方讀者,他們的文字是東西方文化在近代碰撞的史料記載。不僅如此,他們所開(kāi)展的傳教活動(dòng)還在一定程度上改變或者影響了福建民眾的公共生活空間,促進(jìn)了社會(huì)開(kāi)化與福建現(xiàn)代化的進(jìn)程。東西方公共生活空間的差異是兩種截然不同的文化長(zhǎng)期作用的結(jié)果,了解其背后的歷史淵源對(duì)建設(shè)當(dāng)代中國(guó)的公共生活空間有重要的意義。
[Abstract]:Since the middle of the nineteenth century, many British and American missionaries have come to Fujian to spread Christianity. In their reports to the missionary Society and in their writings, they have recorded many aspects of the public life space of Fujian people. This paper attempts to introduce Fujian as a typical Chinese province to the Western readers who were very strange to China at that time. Their words are historical records of the collision of eastern and western cultures in modern times. Not only that, their missionary activities also changed or affected the public living space of Fujian people to a certain extent, and promoted the process of social civilization and Fujian modernization. The difference of public life space between East and West is the result of two distinct cultures acting for a long time. Understanding the historical origin behind it is of great significance to the construction of public life space in contemporary China.
