【摘要】：19世紀(jì)末,美國排華氣焰高漲,華人移民頻遭迫害。為維護(hù)國家尊嚴(yán)、挽救被迫害華人,清政府調(diào)整了相應(yīng)策略。然而,自1870年代至1890年代初期,清政府的應(yīng)對政策基本上是被動、收縮式的,"自禁華工"成為當(dāng)時外交政策的主旋律。此后,清政府逐漸意識到海外華人的重要性,并建立對海外華商的專門保護(hù)機(jī)制;與此同時,清政府更為積極地應(yīng)對與處理美國華人移民問題,利用美國對在華利益的重視迫使其在中國對美移民問題上讓步。正是在這一背景下,抵制美貨運(yùn)動亦在政府默許下展開。
[Abstract]:At the end of 19th century, Chinese immigrants were persecuted frequently in the United States. In order to safeguard national dignity and save the persecuted Chinese, the Qing government adjusted its strategy. However, from the 1870s to the early 1890s, Since then, the Qing government gradually realized the importance of overseas Chinese and established a special protection mechanism for overseas Chinese businessmen. At the same time, the Qing government took a more active part in dealing with the issue of Chinese immigrants in the United States and used the importance that the United States attaches to its interests in China to force it to make concessions on the issue of Chinese immigrants in the United States. The boycott of American goods was also carried out with the tacit approval of the government.
