作為美國人口增長速度最快的少數(shù)族裔,西裔移民現(xiàn)已超過非裔成為美國最大的少數(shù)族裔集團(tuán)。隨著西裔人口的迅速膨脹,這一族裔對美國社會的各個方面都產(chǎn)生了重大影響。本文分析了墨西哥裔、波多黎各裔、古巴裔這三支主要的西裔族群在美國的歷史和現(xiàn)狀,在此基礎(chǔ)上綜合分析了西裔族群在經(jīng)濟(jì)、政治和文化三個方面對美國社會的影響。首先,作者從西裔對美國的勞動力供給貢獻(xiàn)、西裔的經(jīng)濟(jì)收入及購買力、西裔在美擁有的企業(yè)幾個方面分析了西裔對美國經(jīng)濟(jì)的貢獻(xiàn)和影響,并在分析西裔人口年齡結(jié)構(gòu)的基礎(chǔ)上闡述了西裔移民未來對美國經(jīng)濟(jì)的影響；其次,在西裔對美國的政治影響部分,作者首先介紹了影響美國少數(shù)族裔參與政治的因素,從歷史發(fā)展的角度分析了西裔在美國日益增強(qiáng)的政治影響一從政治上幾乎沒有影響逐步過度到影響地方政治和全國范圍的政治。文章闡釋了西裔對美國總統(tǒng)大選的影響,并以2008年總統(tǒng)大選為例,具體分析了其對2008年大選的影響；最后,文章從美國第一大外語西班牙語對教育及其他社會生活的影響、娛樂文化、價值觀、體育運(yùn)動等幾個方面分析了西裔對美國文化的影響。并在此基礎(chǔ)上探討了西裔移民融入美國主流文化緩慢的原因。作者認(rèn)為：雖然西裔移民在經(jīng)濟(jì)、政...
