【摘要】： 羅馬這個國家是建立在古老的道德觀念和公民之上的，可以說，公民和道德是羅馬立國的兩大基石，，也是它實現(xiàn)成功擴張的兩大法寶，兩者密不可分，具有美德的公民造就了偉大的帝國。他們以虔誠、誠信、遵紀(jì)守法、生活嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)、簡樸而著稱，在道德方面堪稱典范。嚴(yán)格的道德規(guī)范將羅馬的公民塑造成勤勞的農(nóng)民、勇敢的戰(zhàn)士、將國家利益置于首位的官員，從而成就了偉大的功業(yè)，建立起廣闊的帝國。古羅馬的各大史家們在總結(jié)歷史的經(jīng)驗教訓(xùn)時也將公民的美德奉于首位，認(rèn)為它是羅馬走向成功的重要原因。李維說過：“在我看來，每個人都應(yīng)當(dāng)密切地注意這些問題，曾有過什么樣的生活，什么樣的道德。在和平戰(zhàn)爭時期，通過哪些人以及運用哪些才能使帝國被建立和擴大。”而羅馬共和后期，公民道德的淪喪是羅馬走向衰亡的根本原因。因此，了解羅馬的公民道德具有重要意義。 本文分為三個部分： 第一部分是引言：闡明當(dāng)前國內(nèi)外研究現(xiàn)狀、本文的主要內(nèi)容、創(chuàng)新之處以及理論與現(xiàn)實意義。 第二部分是正文：首先，對羅馬公民的定義和范圍進行了闡述；接著，對于羅馬公民的社會道德主要從兩方面進行分析：公民道德、職業(yè)道德。公民道德包括：愛國、虔誠、誠信、守法等。職業(yè)道德從羅馬公民通常從事的三種職業(yè)分別進行論述：農(nóng)民、軍人和官吏。最后，論述古羅馬共和時期的道德建設(shè)，及其對當(dāng)今社會的借鑒作用。 第三部分為結(jié)語：總結(jié)公民道德在羅馬社會發(fā)展過程中起到的積極和消極作用。
