英格蘭古典大學(xué)改革與大學(xué)傳統(tǒng)的揚(yáng)棄

【摘要】:英格蘭古典大學(xué)改革是19世紀(jì)英國(guó)改革的重要組成部分,不僅包括教育理念和教學(xué)方式的調(diào)整,而且包括大學(xué)內(nèi)外治理結(jié)構(gòu)的重組。功利主義的思想先導(dǎo)、知識(shí)界的輿論宣導(dǎo)和外圍試驗(yàn)均起到凝聚改革人心、匯聚改革共識(shí)的重要作用。改革打破了教育歸于民間的傳統(tǒng)思維,成功探索出一條以授權(quán)性介入為特征的大學(xué)改革新途徑,反映出19世紀(jì)英國(guó)學(xué)權(quán)、教權(quán)與政權(quán)各自力量的消長(zhǎng)與角色定位。這場(chǎng)改革在引入專業(yè)教育與科學(xué)研究的同時(shí),也保留了大學(xué)的既有優(yōu)勢(shì),其自由和自治傳統(tǒng)、紳士教育傳統(tǒng)通過書院制和導(dǎo)師制大部分得以延續(xù)。傳統(tǒng)揚(yáng)棄的過程也清晰地反映出目的與手段的差別,作為手段的大學(xué)制度需要以知識(shí)的生產(chǎn)和思想的供給為歸依。
[Abstract]:The reform of English classical university is an important part of the reform of England in the 19th century. It includes not only the adjustment of educational ideas and teaching methods, but also the reorganization of the governance structure inside and outside the university. The thought of utilitarianism, the propaganda of intellectual public opinion and the peripheral experiment all play an important role in rallying the people of reform and converging the consensus of reform. The reform has broken the traditional thinking that education belongs to the folk, and has successfully explored a new way of university reform characterized by authorized intervention, which reflects the rise and fall and role orientation of the power of learning, the right of teaching and the power of political power in the 19th century. This reform not only introduced professional education and scientific research, but also retained the advantages of the university. Its tradition of freedom and autonomy, the tradition of gentleman's education was largely continued through the college system and the tutorial system. The process of traditional sublation also clearly reflects the difference between ends and means. The university system as a means needs to rely on the production of knowledge and the supply of ideas.
