【摘要】：19世紀(jì)初美國(guó)新教傳教士受差會(huì)派遣來(lái)華傳播基督教,當(dāng)目睹英、美等國(guó)向華大肆走私鴉片時(shí),傳教士強(qiáng)烈譴責(zé)此行為。此后在傳教需求的驅(qū)使下,部分傳教士對(duì)鴉片貿(mào)易的態(tài)度由反對(duì)轉(zhuǎn)為支持。在確立鴉片貿(mào)易合法化以及宗教實(shí)現(xiàn)全面開禁后,傳教活動(dòng)依舊阻礙重重,由此傳教士再次反對(duì)鴉片貿(mào)易。美國(guó)傳教士自入華之后,基于中國(guó)的社會(huì)環(huán)境以及聯(lián)合英法需求等因素,幾經(jīng)轉(zhuǎn)變對(duì)鴉片貿(mào)易的態(tài)度,其目的都是為了向中國(guó)人傳教。本文試圖梳理傳教士轉(zhuǎn)變對(duì)鴉片貿(mào)易態(tài)度的這一過(guò)程并厘清態(tài)度轉(zhuǎn)變背后的原因和影響等問(wèn)題,進(jìn)而通過(guò)分析得出初步結(jié)論,即傳教士來(lái)華的目的是傳播基督教,而對(duì)鴉片貿(mào)易的態(tài)度則一定程度上成為其傳教手段。
[Abstract]:In early 19th century, the United States Protestant Missionaries were sent to China to spread Christianity. When they witnessed the widespread smuggling of opium into China by Britain, the United States and other countries, the missionaries strongly condemned the act. Then, driven by the demand for missionary service, the missionaries strongly condemned the act. The attitude of some missionaries towards the opium trade has shifted from opposition to support. After establishing the legalization of the opium trade and the complete ban on religion, missionary activities are still hampered. As a result, missionaries once again opposed the opium trade. Since their arrival in China, American missionaries have changed their attitude towards the opium trade several times because of the social environment in China and the needs of the United Kingdom and France. The purpose of this paper is to preach to Chinese people. This paper tries to sort out the process of missionary's changing attitude towards opium trade and clarify the reasons and effects behind the change of attitude, and then draw a preliminary conclusion through analysis. That is, missionaries came to China to spread Christianity, but the attitude toward opium trade became a means of missionary.
