【摘要】：19世紀(jì)倫敦人對(duì)水質(zhì)的關(guān)注推動(dòng)了供水改革。19世紀(jì)初,倫敦供水公司的水質(zhì)引起供水焦慮和爭(zhēng)議,隨后,圍繞被污染的水源是否有害、如何改善水質(zhì)等問題,倫敦各界展開激烈交鋒。1866年爆發(fā)的霍亂不但證實(shí)了斯諾的霍亂傳播理論的正確,還揭露了作為飲用水源的河流被嚴(yán)重污染的事實(shí),促使議會(huì)通過相關(guān)立法治理河流污染和改革供水,避免了霍亂的再次暴發(fā)。到20世紀(jì)初,倫敦的私人供水公司被納入市政管理,倫敦供水基本達(dá)標(biāo)。倫敦圍繞供水改革與霍亂防治的爭(zhēng)端是英國(guó)城市供水演變的縮影,展現(xiàn)出英國(guó)人公共衛(wèi)生意識(shí)的發(fā)展及政府職能的擴(kuò)大。
[Abstract]:In 19th century, Londoners' concern about water quality prompted water supply reform. In the early 19th century, the London Water supply Company's water quality caused water supply anxiety and controversy, and then around whether the polluted water source is harmful. How to improve water quality and other issues, there has been fierce confrontation in London. 1866 outbreak of cholera not only confirmed Snow's theory of cholera transmission is correct. It also revealed the serious contamination of rivers as a source of drinking water, prompted Parliament to adopt legislation to deal with river pollution and reform water supply, thus averting a recurrence of cholera by early 20th century. London's private water supply companies have been incorporated into municipal management, and London's water supply is largely up to standard. London's dispute over water supply reform and cholera prevention is a microcosm of the evolution of water supply in British cities. It shows the development of British public health consciousness and the expansion of government function.
